We want to do the late show on a Fri night early Nov in Cat 1 seating. However, we have some light neck problems with a couple people and from what I’m reading if we book as soon as our booking window opens we could be stuck right up front with “the best” seats but craning our necks straight up to see the players? I’m thinking about waiting to book it so we can be farther back in the cat 1 seating area but idk if this books out fast having never been before or even if my thinking is right about this. Any suggestions? (We also have an ECV but he can transfer, is that going to restrict our seating area or will they let him park it elsewhere?)

I suggest getting category 2 if this is an issue. I've booked cat 1 & been right up against the stage. That was fine for us, but wouldn't be good for you. In your shoes I wouldn't risk it.

I have a herniated disc at C5-6, and was rather close to the stage recently in Cat 1 without experiencing any problems. That said, everyone is very different in regard to these things and what bothers one may not bother another and vice versa. "When" you book has nothing to do with where you sit -it's more about party size and them just putting a puzzle together. If someone in your party is that bad off, it might make the most sense to go with Cat 2 as was suggested above.

We went last year in Category 2 seating and it was great. About halfway back on the main floor, but still plenty of interaction as the show happens all around you with actors out in the audience and lots of participation. If you are worried about Category 1 being too close I would highly recommend category 2. I don't think it diminished our experience at all.

I’ve been cat 1 and cat 2 and both are good. Cat 1 will require some neck straining, though. I agree with the others and think u should reserve cat 2.

It's a fairly small venue so I really didn't note a big difference between category 1 and 2. The actors roam between the 2 categories although probably took more people from category 1 to perform on stage. If that's your dream pay more to be closer to the stage. If you just want to sit back and laugh at the antics opt for category 2.
Have a good time where ever you sit :).

You are assigned the tables based on the order the guests make their ADRS. I booked category 1 for us last year right at our 180 and we were at the very first table by the stage.

Great to hear. I plan on booking this exactly at our 180 days. DD really wants to do this and she is the kind of kid that wants to be front and center with no obstructed view for anything. She even made me sit in the front row for Fantasmic even after I told her we would have a better view if we sat higher. She wasn't having it!

In this case “when” you book DOES matter. The earlier that you book the better your table will be.

This was a last minute trip, and we booked kind of late. We couldn't even get the show time we wanted in Cat 1. That said, we were a party of 2, and these seemed to be seated in only certain places around what mostly looked like larger tables of 4 or more. Out of curiosity, why is that you believe "when" you book matters? It would be good to know for future trips as this is just a great show.

Several reasons.
It is often reported here by many posters. Our personal experience- we have always booked at exactly 180 days and we have had a table right by the stage.
But most credibly @TheRustyScupper , a CM who has done the seating for the HDDR, has stated this fact several times. Hopefully TRS will see this and chime in.

Thank you!

Yep I booked at 180+10 window and we were front and center stage table for two. It was awesome. Like a previous poster my daughter needs front and center. We always have to book Fantasmic dining package and sit front row center for that show too. This year because I didn’t get exactly my vacation request we had to move dates for Hoop De Doo (slightly after 180 days) and she freaked out that we won’t be front and center. I told her she would live.

remember that some cat 2 seating is upstairs and ECV could not get there. be prepared to enter thru Trails End and the secret door. times I have used an ECV I transfered to a seat at table and they parked ECV for me
