Hoop Dee Doo - help please

This is our 9th anuual trip in december, and we have decided to try out HDDR, with DS 5 and DS 2.

Having never been to Fort Wilderness at all, my question is - how do you get there? How do you get to HDDR once you do?

I'm sure you could take a bus but are there any secret shortcuts? Is it easier in a cab? Taking a boat back from MK?

We will be staying at BW the night we go to HDDR.

I will be almost 8 months pregnant on our trip, and although I'm committed to a lot of walking the whole time, just trying to make it as easy as possible.

Take the boat from MK. It drops you at the dock and it is about a 5 min walk if you go slow.

ditto on the boat. just follow the crowd, and there are rocking chairs outside at crokett's tavern (a couple steps before the hoop), so you can rest there before the show.

In case MK closes early that night, another easy way is to drive to Wilderness Lodge and take the boat from there to FW. We like to do this anyway. We go early and look/shop around the Lodge then stroll out to the boat dock. Very pleasant.

If you take the bus you must park in a lot then get on any of the buses going in to the campground. all the buses stop at the hall just ask the driver . We were told once the bus would say HDD so let some go the asked and was told to get on any bus,. this is not a bad way the bus let you of right at the HDD. You can park at the magic kingdom if you want to pay! My suggestion, take a bus to the Magic Kingdom, then take the boat there! You will love the HDDR!!! We love it!! When we were on our honeymoon they sat us front and center! It is a blast!

Just to clarify, you can't actually park at the MK, can you? You park at the TTC, and then you need to get from the TTC to the MK in order to take the boat to fort wilderness. You can get to the boat dock either by taking the ferry or the monorail.

Or is there a boat directly from the TTC to FW? My guess would have been there is only a bus, but I suppose there could be a boat.

I think the parking is quite a ways from the MK, I don't think its at TTC but I don't ever take a car so I don't know for sure. I know they have changed the parking in the last couple of years. No matter, you can take the bus to the MK and then take the boat. We don't like to drive because we feel like it is more of a hassle but to each their own!

It's been a long time since we parked at MK, but it used to be you parked at the TTC and took the monorail or boat to MK.

If that is the case, there is a bus at TTC that will take you to FW. But I would go with everyone else here and take a bus from my home resort to MK and take the boat to FW.

When you get off the bus at MK, walk like you are going into the park. When you get up towards the center where the security check is, go to the left and you'll see the boat dock for FW and WL.

Once you get off the boat at FW it's a couple hundred yards straight up the path to the HDD, and like mentioned earlier, the rocking chairs at Crocketts Tavern are great!
