Hi,

We have not been to HHD is quite sometime...what are they serving up for grub now????popcorn::

Thanks,
Heidi

I went in october 2008 and we had salad, cornbread, mashed potatoes, baked beans, and all you care to eat ribs and fried chicken. It was definitely a stick to your ribs meal, but it was pretty tasty. Soda drinks are also included and so is wine and beer. We had a great time.

They do have chicken breasts. The fried chicken comes with a complete variety of white and dark meat.

I've liked the food both times I was there, I LOVE cornbread and we dont find it around here much. Also, you can get milk as your drink, and I LOVE milk, so I had chocolate milk with my dinner. Usually at WDW I have to forgo my milk, but it was awesome to have it that night.

This was our only bad meal for 8 nights of free dining. Chewy fried chicken, crunchy beans. The strawberry shortcake was the best part. Our waiter was incredibly grumpy and of course this was the place where the tip was included in the overall price. Otherwise, he would have gotten about 1% not 20!!! Food was absolutely disgusting.

Too bad, choirfarm! You must have hit it on an off night. We loved the food- chicken was juicy and tender, ribs were fall off the bone tasty, and the shortcake was to die for!! MMMMMM, mmmm! The salad was great too that they start you off with. We loved it all!

I've been there 2-3 times in my life and loved it every time. The other poster must have had an off evening. Sometimes that happens. I'm going in April, can't wait!

We thought the food was delicious and they accomodated my kids with mac and cheese too which went along with the chicken perfectly for them.
I wish I had saved more room for dessert.
I wish they would serve desset first! :goodvibes

food was awesome and our waiter was great. can't wait till tomorrow so I can book our next Hoop Dee Doo dinner!

We're going for the 1st time during our June trip and I can't wait. We've been to Disney World many times but we've never done the Hoop-Dee-Doo so we're all looking forward to it. I can make our ADR's on March 2nd!!! :thumbsup2

I am wondering what time did the OP eat at?? What I am getting at is, does the food get worse as the night goes on?? Did she eat at 5PM and it was bad or was it the last time slot that she ate at and the food was bad?? I think we need to find out if that is the issue?? We are eating there in about 40 days and we are eating at 5 PM, the first time slot so I am thinking (hoping) the food will be fresh! :)

We were there in September. "Grub" is one word for it. Awful would be another.

I don't think the menu has changed in the 11 years that we have gone there. The food is OK, but what do you expect for a place named Hoop-Dee-Doo? :confused3 :lmao:

Went for Thanksgiving this year and everyone enjoyed the show and the food. Not 5 star but as good as any other fried chicken and rib meal you will get at WDW.

Heelo Everyone,

I had asked this question because they used to serve corn or green beans if I can remember correctly. I do not eat mashed potoates and I know you really pay for the show, but I was just seeing if the veggies were still there!!

I love the Hoop dee doo and have seen it at least 4 time and probably will go back...veggies or not.

Yep, I was there in September for the 7:15 show. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. We wish we had kept Coral Reef and Chef Mickeys that we traded for this. As I said, we did free dining and we enjoyed every other meal and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was at Disney, even the counter services were good. But this...NASTY!!! The show was fine, but being from the south it seemed a little over the top.

Here is a picture of some of the food my last time I at the HDDR in October 2007
