Hoop Dee Doo Category 1 vs 2

Thanks for clarifying. I think I'm thinking of the Category 3 tables which are along the sides of the balcony, rather than the tables in the balcony area that faces the stage and I think is Category 2.
Yes, I think you’re right. It’s been a long time since we were at HDD with Cat. 3 in use!

Yeah in photos I have seen cat 2 tables at the back where families sit perpendicular to stage. It has always looked like cat 3 sat in a row along the side. I think everyone sits with back to stage and can rotate their seat to face the stage. Just not sure how snug we will be with other parties
Downstairs tables on 7/13 seemed to be spaced nicely, plenty of room to walk between them. Hopefully will be same up in Cat. 3.

Hopefully - it isn’t a Covid thing for me but more of a personal space thing. Oh well it is what it is and I love the show so much I won’t care (hopefully) if we are arm to arm. I survive it on a plane after all

If money isn’t the issue, I would do the cat1. We have always done that and wouldn’t do it any other way. Great seats, great interaction with the cast, and just enjoying being in the middle of it all!!!

On the balcony you're seated in a row, kind of like a bar situation. So it's possible you might have another party on either side of yours.

Each party will still have their own individual table

July 3 this year, there were people in the balcony.

I think it used to be that the way the tables were assigned (within each category) was based on how early you made your reservation (and a bit how big your party is). So if you booked Cat 1 at 60+10 as a party of 4, you were right next to the stage. (We were a party of 8 so we were back just a bit from the front). Is this still the case? (Well it used to be 180+10, but 60+10 is the earliest these days).

Yes. Earliest reservations in each category are assigned to the best tables in said category. I can't remember if all of the tables against the stage are four-person tables. The last time we went as a party of four (Nov. 2019) we were stage center.

If were were any closer, we would have been on stage.

When we were there with a larger parties in Category 1 (parties of six), we were typically to the side of the stage.

We went back over 4th of july trip. Again, aced a wonderfully interactive front table.

somebody beat us to the prime center table. They have always been set long way facing the stage with two people directly facing the stage & one each on the short sides. Nobody with their back to it.

This time, sat next to the piano, not to be confused with the smaller table, directly behind it, where they sat A couple. Was afraid it might be a bit too loud but, was our favorite table so far With tons of interaction!:lovestruc

all the other front row tables that night were only seating 3 pp.
