Hi everyone! We are taking a family vacation in a couple of months and my brother is joining us He is in a power chair (unable to transfer too much). I am a little nervous because we called for hdr tickets. The first tier (bottom level was sold out) they offered us second tier. We explained the situation and the CM promised even though most tier 2 is on the second floor we would be seated on the first.

I guess I am being a little paranoid but I just like to have all the kinks worked out because I know my brother always feels like he is "bothering" people or whatever (which I think is dumb!! I tell him eveything should be designed totally ADA/universal and he is the paying customer! BTW)and I just want him to be comfortable. TIA!

Seat him next to the railing and he should see fine. We sat in the bottom tier and could see people in the top tier just fine. The stage is big enough for the whole room to see. I hope you have as much fun as we did. Corny jokes but sooooo much fun for the whole family! I am jealous! Have fun!

The problem isn't seeing from the top floor it's getting to the top floor since there isn't an elevator.

WDW is pretty good about making sure you get the accessible seating for the dinner shows. However if I were you I'd make sure I showed up a little early. That way if there is some sort of a mix up they'll have time to correct it.

Because they do not have any seating that is wheelchair accessible in the lower price, they also should not be charging him the higher price. Other guests have the option of choosing to pay the higher price to get better seating or a lower price and maybe not have as good of seats - he can't choose to pay the lower price because they are not accessible to him.

Actually there isn't a difference in pricing at HDD for either first or second floor. If there was though, it sounds as though they are guaranteeing him the first floor ( which if it was different would be the higher price) and charging him for what's left ( second floor which if different would be the lower price). HDD accessible seating is to the right of the stage and there's a nice view there. They will bring him in first if you arrive early to be seated before the other guests arrive, just to make it easier to get situated. The last time we went there was a family at the next table who also had a guest in a w/c. I was glad to be off to the side with more space for my chair and thus not worrying about someone bumping into me and having a clear path to exit in case of emergency. ---Kathy

They changed the pricing scheme at the beginning of this year. It all used to be one price, but now they've divided the seating up into three sections. If you're in the second tier of pricing there is still some ground floor seating, towards the back of the room. I don't know whether they'd seat you guys in this section, or move you to the front, in the regular wheelchair area.

Hmmm...It sounds like then the OP was charged only for second tier/second floor seating pricing but will be accomodated with the lower floor seating at no additional cost since they need ground floor seats for accessibility. Even seating toward the back of the "theater" you would be able to have a nice view of the stage and all the action Obviously since there's no elevator, they can't put you on the second floor. ---Kathy

I hadn't even though about this, we will be doing Hoop Dee Doo and my mom may very well be in a wheel chair, thanks for the heads up.

Yes it seems as if now thereare 3 different tiers of seating and payment so we charged the second tier because that was what was available but thet promised we would be sat on the first because as Bill mentioned there is no elevator up to the second level!

Bill I think I will take your advice and arrive before most people to ensure there isn't a mix up! Thank you all for your responses! cmwade77glad to help...I have learned to ALWAYS mention i have a guest in a wheelchair when making ressies. In fact a cm mentioned to me that was the best thing so that the restaurant would know in advance
