Hi there! I read somewhere, not sure, maybe it was on the Mom's Panel, that you have to check in to the Hoop-De-Doo at least 45 minutes before the show starts. Is this the case, or does the same 20 minutes prior to your reservation apply?

Also, what is the best/quickest way to get there from Hollywood Studios?

For dinner shows you have to check in 30-45 mins before showtime. I have never tried to check in to HDDR in less time than that only because I don't know what happens or if anything happens.

From DHS, I would assume that the easiest way is to take the resort bus to Ft. Wilderness. I usually go to the show from MK, so we just hop on the boat. I am sure someone else would be able to give you easier or better instructions.

From DHS you could also take the bus to the MK, hop on a boat and its a short walk. I also checked in 45 minutes prior, but it seemed like people were checking in even right before dinner...

If you check in 45 minutes early, you will find yourself standing around and waiting quite a while. Partly it's because they do a photo, and it takes a while to do everyone's photo. (The photo is optional - don't recall if I've ever had it taken.)

25 minutes should be fine. The check-in station will still be open.

There's also no real reason to join the line to get into Pioneer Hall. Your table has already been assigned, and the doors are open in plenty of time to seat everyone before dinner begins.

We went in September and got off the boat about 45 minutes before the start. It was perfect timing. I went to the window got our tickets and then went to checked in. There were small lines in both spots so when that was done we only had to wait about 15 minutes to go inside.

From DHS, I would take a bus to WL, and the boat from there to Fort Wilderness. Just walk through WL from bus stop and follow the sign to the boat launch. Quick boat ride over. The bus between DHS and MK will leave you at TTC -- so you would still need to get to MK to get the Fort Wilderness boat. An extra step.

We usually arrive at HDDR at least 30 minutes early, check in and then, weather dependent, wander over to see the horses and ponies nearby or look around the gift shop just down the path. They do not open the doors early so once you are checked in -- you do not need to wait in line. I like to be sure I'm there early, and checked in. Takes out any stress of a low or late bus or boat.

1) 20-25 minutes is fine.
2) They like 45-minutes so people don't come late.
3) Plus, they now added the photo.

We plan on taking our time. IN the AM we will be at AK then back to the Dolphin to freshen up and relax.

We plan on taking the bus from the Dolphin to MK and do a few rides in the afternoon. We have the 7:15 PM HDD show, so we will take a boat from MK to Fort Wilderness (we will ask which flag boat to take) around 6 PM. We will get to the HDD by 6:45 PM or a bit before. Then check in for our HDD show and browse the sovenier carts outside the HDD entrance.

The 5 PM show will get out around 6:20 PM and we do not want to be in the 5 PM show ending group.

At the end of the 7:15 PM show, around 8:40 PM, we either wil take the bus back to the Dolphin from Fort Wilderness HDD area, OR, take the boat from FW back to MK, b/c it will be open to 11 PM that night.

Every time I've gone, it seems we get there way too early. In '07 we were at DHS, left at 8:15, walked out to the buses. The WL/FtW bus was sitting there. We got on and took off immediately. At that time the bus from DHS dropped off at Pioneer Hall, so we were there at 8:25. In Dec we were at MK, left at 8:30, caught the boat as it was leaving and were there at 8:50. I just know someday I'll try to cut it closer and end up being late. But getting there that early gives me time to go the the Outpost and get a Diet Coke before going in to the show where I can suck down Bud Light all night.

Here's what our itinerary says:
"Please pick up your dinner show tickets at least 2 hours before showtime and arrive at location 30 minutes early."
We'll pick up our tickets at the hotel concierge desk then head out to FW later. I think 30 min early is a pretty long time if you're not planning on getting the pics. But, depending on the ages of your party, there is a playground nearby, if you have young 'uns.
Sorry, I can't help you with the transportation time from HS...

If the table is pre-assigned, is it on your ticket?
