Hoop De Doo Review

We've gone to HDDR once every trip. It is getting a little old now as the show doesn't change but my Dad loves the food and sangria! The food's ok. I don't like meat on the bone so I don't eat the ribs or chicken. I also don't care for strawberry shortcake so I don't eat that either. So for $50 I eat salad, bread, and corn. What a deal ;). I also really like the Sangria (even though it tastes like cheap wine). We went to the 9:30 show last trip and thought it was the best time we've ever been. It wasn't overly crowded as it usually is and I thought the show was more funny. And more of an adult crowd was there. You also get a discount with the DDE card for the 9:30 show.

We went for the first time this spring with my parents, and our kids (11 and 9). Everyone LOVED the show; it was a true hilight of our trip. We will definitely return. :cheer2:

I will be taking my family for the first time next Wednesday! I can't wait. I have three sons ages 16, 13, and 21 months so I am hoping that this will be fun for all. :thumbsup2

What do you think for the 21 month old??? Is this show good for this age and has anyone else taken their children at this age?

Will he be able to move around a little or will he have to sit "still" for two hours?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

My family will be going for the first time and I am wondering what the seating arrangement is. Is it tables, or sort of chairs at long bars all facing the same direction a la Medeviel Times? Are you seated with other groups? I heard there are vegetarian and children's options outside of the regular menu?

We are going to the 5p show. Is there anything to do at Ft Wilderness afterward? I heard there are wagon rides but I believe they are at 7p, and we probably wouldn't make it in time I guess?

The good: the food, the entertainment, the food and the entertainment!!!!

The bad: they only offer the castmember discount at the 9:30 pm show!

:)

Ok, I know this is a little :offtopic: but I've found someone who has posted more than me and lives in Celebration too! Yayyyyyyyy! I'm not the only crazy one!

Is there an annual pass discount?

:thumbsup2 We went when my son was 4 (now 6) he was picked to go up on stage!! I never laughed so hard in my life. :rotfl2: We all had a great time!! cant wait to do it again!!! :cheer2:

Ha, i guess i can be the minority here..lol..
Don't get me wrong, it should be gone to at least once-- however, this is our third year in a row going, (plus one other time- so total it's our 4th time for the HDD) and it is getting old...lol.
Again, take it for what it's worth, I don't like dinner shows period.. So, that is what does it for me, The food is good. And the show is funny.. But, after 3 yrs straight.. enough is enough..
But, we go to WDW with my in-laws and they have been going for 20 yrs, know the waiter by name- as he knows them too- and this truley makes her trip to bring us to the hoop de doo, so i go for her.. ( And once i am there, i somewhat enjoy it.. i'll admit! ) LOL
And like another poster said, the free drinks help!! LOL

We went in October and I had a great time. We were about 3 tables back from the stage and it was great seating. They even recruited me to be in the show. Also, the girl (dont remember her name) sat on my husbands lap and sang a song to him! He thought he was so special after that! But the show was really good and my girls really enjoyed it.

No annual pass discount but if you purchase a DDE card you get 20% off the 9:30 show. Which if you don't mind eating late can be a pretty good discount. DVC people also get 10% off according to www.allearsnet.com.

I have the fondest memories of the Hoop De Doo because it was our first dinner of our first family trip to WDW. My son was four and was mesmerized by the show. I don't care for BBQ, but the salad and chicken were really good and my mouth waters thinking about that corn with peppers. I was too full for the strawberry shortcake.

Well, I just bit the bullet and booked this for our last night in Disney - 12/8 @ 7:15. Wasn't sure about using 2 TS, but oh well. This one has always interested me, and I thought it would be a nice way to end our trip!

If he/she is sensitive to loud sounds, this is not a good place for them. My oldest DS was fine, but my younger one cried because it was too startlingly loud for him. He is the most sensitive to sounds though. Good luck!
