Considering a reservation there. Is it worth the $50+ per person?
What does a reservation require in advance (full payment?)
Does it include gratuity?
Is it hard to get a table?
I have pre-teen kids, wondering if they'd enjoy it?

It is wonderful. Corny...but that's part of what makes it great fun. It's one of
the ADRs that require the credit card and they do charge it. I don't think the
tip is included unless it's a big party. Everything else is included though. Even
beer and sangria! It's popular but I've never had trouble getting in. We usually
wait until we're in WDW and call to see when they have availability that week.
We've always gotten in. That way, we can be more spontaneous. It's one of
those "Don't Miss" things. Even if you only do it once. Personally, I've enjoyed
it probably a half dozen times to date. Enjoy!

I think the show is great and the food is really good. We had a great time. Definitley worth the money in my opinion.

i think it was worth it, I went with my son and his friend at 15 and they both liked it. I do think it is a one time thing, once you see it that's all you need. Enjoy it is you go. PS the food is good the ber and wine are better :drinking1

Considering a reservation there. Is it worth the $50+ per person? You are basically paying for a 2 hour dinner show, so that's what makes it a little more expensive
What does a reservation require in advance (full payment?) pretty sure, yes, if using the DP not sure how they do that
Does it include gratuity? yes
Is it hard to get a table? can be depending on time of year, and which show

I liked it, I'm going back again this year.. Has all the food I like, :), and the performers are pretty good IMO, but it IS corny, dont go in expecting ANYTHING less..

Well said! We've done it 3 times in 10 years, bringing new sheep to the fold! For me it's like, Carousel of Progress, Swiss Family Robinson & It's a Small Small World, I need to do them every so often.

It's a family favorite! in moderation! If you've never done it then it's a must do! Enjoy!

It is well worth it. Especially for adults. For kids...it may be a stretch. With the all you can eat, drink, and the show... You get your money's worth. My DD2 had such a great time with the show and the strawberry shortcake that it was well worth it for her as well.

I've heard a couple bad reviews on the food, but we've had nothing but awesome food and so have friends who have gone. Next time we visit WDW, we will hit this show.

Show is corny but cute. Food is awful. Since you're paying for the show more than the food, I recommend only Category 1 seating, with a reservation made months ahead of time so you're very near the front. The earlier you make a reservation, the better seats you'll have in your chosen category. When I reserve, I check several dates of our trip and ask the reservation agent to tell me how far down the reservation priority list I would be for each date and time. I usually go with the 9:30 p.m. show since that one is easiest to get good priority for seating if you call far enough in advance.

I recently took my elderly parents and they loved it. If it were up to me, I'd never go again.

My DH DD and DS all still sign the songs and talk about it ...and we went back in April 2007.... it was corny but fun, and it was a magical memory we will all remember for a long time..... Go have fun... Enjoy...;)

We loved Hoop Dee Doo. And of course, meals are a matter of taste, and can also vary from one night to the next. Hubby and I are foodies, and we were downright surprised at the quality and flavor of the all-you-can-eat fare. Yummy! Cooked well, and of course very plentiful.

The show is fantastic, corny fun. A real treat. We are going again in December and treating two friends to the experience as well!

What didnt you like about the food that you call it 'awful'? It's not a 5 star meal, but awful???

For us, we did'nt really love it. However, that was five years ago, we were on our honeymoon, didnt really know what to expect from it, etc. I will say that though that we do plan to go back again and see if we like it this time. I think we just werent in the right frame of mind or something because everyone else I talk to that goes RAVES about it. My suggestion would be to go, and enjoy the show. I know it seems expensive, but honestly, thats about what you'll pay per plate at the upperend restaurants, and you dont even get singing cowboys included in the price...ha.

We were just there 2 weeks ago and it was the highlight of our trip. Yep, it's corny, but it's hysterical and everyone in our group loved it (two adults, one 21 year old and two boys ages 8 and 10). We thought the food was much better than we expected, especially the fried chicken. Our kids adored the corn bread.

I wouldn't do it every trip or else it would lose it's fun (too repetitious maybe), but I'd go back in a heart beat. I took some of the best pictures at this show and again, we really loved it.

I highly recommend it! :wizard:

Yes, Yes, Yes! My family and I love this dinner show the BEST of all the meals at Disney. The show alone is worth $50.00 a person. Also the food is GREAT.:)

I can't say enough good things about HDDR - it was one of our best memories from our recent trip - and WORTH IT! I recommend the cheaper seats - I've done both, and I think Cat 3 seats are actually better - it's not that big of a place, and all seats are good, the cast interracts with ALL levels, not just Cat 1. And, sorry, but we all LOVED the food. Nothing fancy (they serve it in buckets!) but the fried chicken was WONDERFUL and DH loved the ribs - gratuity and drinks are also included in the price - including beer, wine and sangria. We all had a great time and are still singing the Hoopdeedoo theme song...

We love it! It's an amazing show! But if your doing a budget friendly trip, then don't worry about it, seriously. There is so much to do and places to go in WDW that you can catch it next time and still have an amazing trip!!
