Hoop De Doo question

Hi--We are going to the 5:00 seating of the Hoop De Doo Jan. 26 and have cat. 1 seating for the four of us. My sis/brother-in law and their two kids are now also going to be in Disney on that date and she just made a reservation for the 4 of them at the 5:00 seating in Cat 1 also. My question is, can we be seated beside each other if we ask when we get there? I know that we are supposed to be there at 4:30--why so early? Do you think we should cancel and try to get a table for 8 or is it likely that we can just be seated near each other if we are there at the same time and both in the same category? Thanks for your help!

I would make a reservation for 8. Your tables are assigned when you make the reservation.

They want you there early, so they can start the show on time. If they say to be there at 5p, and the house is only 1/2 full, it would be too distruptive to the others guests and performers.

1) Definitely make a new Cat-1 ressie to sit together.
2) The seating arrangement is made 9-days ahead of time.
3) Usually start making the seating charts about 3:00pm in the ticket booth
. . . seats assigned by the earliest date/time of the ressie
. . . no taking into account for grouping of tables with different ressie dates
. . . there are two tables left unassigned (typically #44 and #46)
4) Seats can be scrambled a little due to cancellations.

It's one of our favorites.

Ah. That might explain why we were in (what I would consider) really good seats and we booked about 2 weeks before our 12/26 reservation. We had a table for 2 and were off to the side but very close to the stage. Last time I saw it we were waaaay up in the balcony (no cats then). Totally different show when you can actually see it!

Well, where we sat, no because we were not only in the balcony, but our table was behind at least 1 row of tables (it was 19 years ago, so memory is not an exact science at this point!).

That might be a good question for a thread or a search, how good/bad are the cat 3 seats?

So are the seats upstairs even worth it?

I think so. We were just there and had cat. 2 seating. We didn't sit upstairs but the CMs go up there too. My kids really really enjoyed HDDR. I thought it was funny too. I would sit in Cat. 3 no problem.

We were there 12/22. DD (7) got to be the "bell ringer" when it was time to eat. It was pretty fun.

We get cat 2 and honestly have never had a bad seat. We love the show...lots of fun and very good food. I would however get a table where your all seated together. Otherwise you may be in totally different area's. They want you there early for photos and such. My dd has however gotten to be the bell ringer 2x now and that is alot of fun to watch. :)

Has anyone other than me actually sat in Cat 3? I thought the seats stunk!
