I called in to book Hoop de Doo at our 180 day mark and it was already booked solid! I didn't realize it was THAT popular of a show!
Now what? I really wanted to take my parents and in-laws there as it's something they would all enjoy (rare, am I right?). Any chance that this will open up and I can snag a spot? Or should I just stick with my other option?
I've considered the other dinner shows and I don't think that they would all enjoy either the food or the entertainment, so those are off the table for now.

Wow. That does seem strange. I just booked it last night for August. There were multiple nights and times available for my dates.

I was trying for the early show on 10/30.

There is a lot of weird stuff going on with hoop dee doo lately. the 6:15 show has not been available for around 6 weeks (going back in to september, maybe closer to 2 whole months at this point) and when I've checked availability Tier 1 at 4pm is sold out on some days right at 180 days. No one seems to know what is happening, but it has been noticed for a while. The CMs just say keep checking back.

As Lisa F said, something has been going on with the 6:15 show availability since mid September. CM's say that they see it is unavailable but not sold out. They don't know why

I just looked for Nov. 1 and there are dinner times available for 5 of us. Do you have a large group?

What time did you look at? The 6:15 is not available for 3 people on November first at 8 AM today.
It is only the 6:15 that has been unavailable since mid September. The other 2 shows have availabilty

You're right. The 6:15 was not showing. Just the other times. Sorry. Good luck!

I have resigned myself to the 4pm show at this point...but the two days before that I had been planning to do early dinners anyway (Ohana on a split resort switch day, epcot and checking out of BWV in the morning, over to Poly in the afternoon, early dinner and then to MK for a non-xmas party night so was going to get the earliest ohana seating) and then hopefully BoG 4ish on xmas party night. Might as well have dinner at 4pm on our last night too, just wanted to squeeze a couple extra hours out of the MK on our last day. That said really wondering if I can make it back to the MK for another ride or two after dinner and before they kick people out for the party :D

Not very likely that you will make it back much before 7 PM if it is a party night. The HDDR is 2 hours long so 4 - 6. Then you have to walk to the boat dock (5 - 7 mins) and hope you make it on the first boat back to the MK. It is about a 20 minute boat ride, then through security, bag check lines, and into the MK. At that point you are at the head of Main Street, fighting the exiting crowds. That is easily most of an hour. If you don't make the first boat from FW to MK due to capacity, then I think it is a definite no.
good Luck

I couldn't get the 6:15 show when I tried to book online. Their system was doing weird things. I called and got it without issue.

I'd like to know, too. I'm making ADRs tomorrow morning. From her ticker, it looks like she'll be there the first week of Oct.

The 4pm show isn't that bad. We did it in January. We usually eat dinner around 7pm so we just ate a late breakfast around 10 am skipped lunch then did the hoop de doo. You can eat at your own pace through the two hours so it's not like you start eating at 4pm and are done by 430 feeling.

that's true, it is kind of a drawn out meal. On our last trip in 2014 we were completely utterly exhausted by the end of our last MK day so ending it around 3pm might not be a bad thing, we have another not party evening/night there and MVMCP there as well. it might be plenty.

That's how it worked out for us too. After we took time to do the marshmallow roast and chip and dale sing along while we were still at the camp grounds. It was a nice way to end our evening and recharge a little while still feeling like we weren't missing anything.
