On our trip in June we will be celebrating my father's 70th birthday. He hasn't been to WDW since 1985, so we want to make this a very special trip. One night we will be doing Hoop De Doo. I thought this might be a great time to do a birthday cake for him. I haven't made our reservations yet, but I do know to tell them that we will be celebrating a special birthday. Does anyone have a number to call about birthday cakes and when should I do that?

Thanks,
Melanie

I hope someone chimes in with their experiences...

We ordered the special $16 cake for our Liberty Tree Tavern meal, and it was the worst cake EVER!! It had been "frozen" so the frosting kinda falls off... When I called for our CRT I had them note it on the ressie, and they brought cupcakes, and decorated the table - MUCH better cake I might add!!

To compensate we were :wizard: with a "free" cake at our 1900 Park Fare Dinner, and was told since GF has a bakery it would be fresh - and it was - and that cake would be well worth the price tag!!

just my experience...

if you click "search" in this forum and type in birthday cake - you'll get a ton of replies, one thread was started on show me your pictures of the birthday cakes -

I wasnt the only one to experience a previously frozen cake...

I really don't want a previously frozen cake-yuck! Maybe someone has more info on how to get a tasty/nonfrozen cake.
