Please tell me about it! We will be going with a 3 year old and a 6 month old baby. Should I book it? We have the deluxe dining plan , so plenty of dining credits. Would love some reviews of it - thank you!

Go for it!!!

The 3 year old won't understand it, but will love the music and singing.

This is our absolute favorite thing to do. We play a little game in our family that asks the question....."if you could do one thing at Disney" or "if you could eat at just one Disney restaurant"..........The Hoop De Do consistently is mentioned as a must.

Do it. Great show and good food.:)

It is definately a kid friendly place. He will love the music and the interaction. We always Hoop, it is a family favorite.

I agree with the OPs! Definitely go for it, especially since you have the credits! Your son will think it's a riot with all of the singing and dancing, and it's a very interactive show. Like with anything Disney, make sure you have your camera. You never know when you'll be part of the show! The food isn't bad either. There's plenty of food for everyone!

I have free dining so thinking of using some of my table service credits for one of the earlier shows. The seating available for those shows are Category 2 and 3. How are those seats? Based on the seating chart, it looks like Category 2 is on the main floor towards the back and to the sides, while Category 3 is in the balcony and towards the sides.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

We were a Cat 2 and sat on the left side facing the stage. We were actually the table closest to the kitchen and our view was fine. We had a good time. :thumbsup2

We've done over 15 HDDR's over our 44 visits to WDW....for us the greatest show on earth plus grub, beer and wine....even for toddlers...last trip we had our 11 month old granddaughter and her parents with us....she laughed and grinned till the near end and then fell asleep...

We never do dining plans and just pay out of pocket and really prefer cat. one....want to be as close to the action as possible but to answer your seating question....I'd go cat. 2.....we had cat. 3 once due to CM discount and it was only for cat. 3 seating and the balcony is terrible....back is towards the stage so you either look over your shoulder while you eat, or rearrange your seats which puts your chairs out in the waiter service area...and you seem so far removed from the action.....if I'm going to pay the price for a show, I'd rather get the best seat for my money....but don't pass it up....

That's us in my signature picture from our 2010 trip at the HDDR....one table from the stage...

We went with a just turned 1 and 3 year old. They both loved the show and the food. The bread and macaroni worked great for the youngest, and the older one ate everything up. Except for the strawberry shortcake, as he was too distracted by the show he literally forgot to eat.

The only negative thing I would say would be the drinks come in these heavy jars, which seemed inappropriate for a 3 year old. The other problem is getting to the show. Once you get there, you have to then take a bus and walk maybe 100 yards to the show. If it is raining, with 2 little ones and a stroller... it just isn't a good scenario. You will also stand outside waiting to be let in. It took at least an additional half hour once we arrived and parked at the parking lot before we even saw the restaurant. We must have just missed the internal shuttle bus. Plan accordingly.

Sorry you found your trip to the HDDR so difficult, but honestly, in the 35+ years we've been going, we had to wait in the rain once. And we never drive, since they provide buses to take you back to your resort for all but the first show.

We have sat in all three categories and have never had a complaint about any of our tables. Visibility was just fine, even with cat 3. The only problem I had was with one visit at a Cat. 1: we were actually too close!:scared1: I had a crick in my neck by the end of the show:laughing:!

The first time we went our boys were 14 months and 2 yrs...They loved it...The smiled and clapped along the entire time...

I just recommend not getting there too early...No reason since the tables are assigned at time of purchase...So the earlier you book the better your table will be.
