Hoop de do or Aloha dinner show?

Trying to decide ... which would you pick?

Its me, DH, 16 yo boy and 11 month boy.

Both are fun, but I definitely prefer Aloha. It is a different experience. We have been twice and liked it both times. A potential challenge is the weather. If it is raining hard, they cancel the show. They give your money back, but you are out a dinner that night - along with a few hundred other people who are scrambling to get into anywhere else they can.

We picked Aloha for Jan but we are looking forward Hoop Dee Do next year

my 8 year old son prefered aloha, so did I, sure the show itself is a bit corny,but the dancers and firedancer were amazing, DS thought that there was just too much kissing in HDDMR.
the food is better at hoop though. but the pina coladas are better at aloha,lol

We have done both several times, and prefer the Hoop over the Luau. We love the show and think the food is much better at the Hoop.

They also cancel if the temperature falls below 50 degrees. This happened to us last year in January, so we are going to try on this January trip.

One thing I would recommend is to make another ADR for the same night. I know I'm probably going to get flamed for saying that, but if you are going when the weather is a bit "iffy", it is far better to not show up to an ADR then to have to scramble to find one. We scheduled O'hana both last year and this year for the same time as our scheduled luau, and last year I was really glad I did.

We prefer HDDR as well. Like the show and the food much better.

I have never done the Aloha dinner but the Hoop De Doo is a lot of fun. I think your son would enjoy the Hoop De Doo much more. I have heard the Aloha dinner can be boring for some kids.

Have a 9year old and a 7year old that love them some Hoop De Doo.

Definitely the HDDR! My family goes every time we visit, we did the luau once and it was boring. The whole family will enjoy the HDDR, even the little one

My family LOVED Hoop De Doo!!! I went to the Luau in October with my cousin and I would not go back. Food was ok (Hoop De Doo's is GOOD), dessert at the Luau was disgusting! The show was ok but, again, not as good as Hoop De Doo.
