We went to Hook's Pointe with our 9 year old sons in December. I think I expected too much based on the prices. Still, if you have young-ish children, they do a good job of meeting their needs - I think we had colouring sheets, and we did spend the extra $ to get the souvenir cup with the glowing Captain Hook. Unfortunately, I found the food rather lacking - nothing special about the kids food, and my salmon was way too salty. I also ordered extra veggies rather than carbs and the highly recommended asparagus arrived - so salty I took one bite and knew I couldn't eat it (no, they didn't charge me).
That being said, one son really enjoyed the seafood chowder,my husband gave the tuna a passing grade (and he's picky about his tuna!) and the atmosphere was definitely family friendly.
We quite enjoyed a dinner at Storyteller's - also very family friendly and the boys were really happy with the selections from the buffet/make your own pizza. My husband enjoyed our meal (my veggie soup and chicken quesidilla really hit the spot on a cooler evening!) The server was great with the boys, and the noise level was high enough that kids' exuberence just blended in.
We also had dinner at the Napa Rose...twice in the week. The first was a spectacular, adults-only (kids in the kids' club) dinner at the Chef's Table. Sure it was expensive, but fantastic! We returned a few days later with the boys. We had missed our reservation time and given up our table, but then when we heard the noise level at Storytellers, we went back to Napa Rose. They set us up in the lounge, at a cosy table beside the fire. The quality of the kids meals was the highest of the week, and they enjoyed their "real" food! My husband and I had enjoyed a full "tour" of the menu with our tasting meal earlier in the week, so we went back to some favourites. In the end, it was our best family meal, and not as expensive as we had feared - although maybe that was in relation to our >$300 meal earlier in the week!
I hope this helps!
