Yay for Disney's new special offers!

I'm currently booked at CSR for our honeymoon, I called today an added another night... we were booked for 6 nights, but now we have a free one!!

So since this offer is so awesome, I also looked into upgrading to a deluxe resort! I got a quote for WL, AKL, and BC...

WL is DF's favorite, and I'm sure it's just wonderful, but it just doesn't appeal to me for some reason... but the upgrade is only $427.

AKL I would def want a Savannah room... this ends up being $742 more than our CSR room. Is it worth it???

BC for a standard view is an $833 difference for a Standard View... again, worth it or no?

I talked to DF about it, and we were originally planning on doing the Dolphins in Depth tour at Epcot and Cirque Du Soliel, and he said if we upgrade our resort we're not doing either of those. Sooo, is a deluxe resort worth giving up those 2 things????

I haven't even told him about the Pirate and Princess Party yet that I wanted to go to!:rotfl:

I don't know what to do, I just need some opinions!!!

We are booked to go back in May and I really wanted to stay at a deluxe resort but we just couldn't justify the extra cost. The problem we had is on our wedding trip we visited lots of the hotels to have meals and we fell in love with the WL but when it came down to i the only thing we would want to use is the room service. So we are now booked in at the CSR and we are using the money saved to spend on nice meals and the P&P party. In the word of my DH at the end of the day you are only paying to sleep there.

If you have got the cash I would say go for it, you only do it once but because of our future plans we have to be good. I'm just glad we can afford a trip back.

I think the same way... I'd like to be able to do the "extras" but I haven't been there in over 10 years and it's DF's first time there so I don't think we'd miss the extras.

I guess it really depends on what you plan on doing for your honeymoon. I have stayed at the Yacht Club before and loved it (Similar to BC), but for our trips, we never are at the hotel much so it wouldn't be worth it to me. The rooms are very nice and a little bigger, but for that amount of money, I probably would stick to a moderate, epecially if there are other things that you can spend your money on like great shows/tours!

But, if you really want to go Deluxe, and money isn't a factor, then I would go BC. They have a great pool and it is steps from Epcot. WL is awesome too, but it can be a pain to get to some places sometimes. I haven't been to AKL yet, but I am sure it is really nice too!

Good luck with your decision!

IMO the moderates are not much better than the values. I always go either value for el cheapo or deluxe for the splurge. Every time we go and stay at a moderate we are not impressed and wish we saved and did a value. On our HM we are doing GF cause it is our HM. And I treeated DF to a BC stay in May for his bday but we usually do values and just eat at all the kick *** restaurants in the hotels :)

We stayed at WL for our HM and fell in love with the resort. While the boat to the MK is a huge plus as is the atmosphere of the resort, we don't always find it worth the splurge. Prior to purchasing DVC we regularly stayed at POR and absolutely love the resort. The landscaping is full and lush, there's wildlife, and to us it feels intimate. Personally I think that a moderate is perfectly fine. I would spend the money on the extras to make your HM all that more memorable.

We had our honeymoon at WDW this past April. We decided to book a moderate resort (POFQ) so that we could afford to do the extras that we wanted to do (Segway tour, nice sit down dinners, etc.) However, to our surprise, when we checked in we were told we were upgraded to the Grand Floridian! I don't know how often this happens, but it was quite exciting for us. We didn't think we'd ever afford to stay at GF. However, after our stay, we decided that we probably would never stay there again based on their high rates. It was really nice, but we prefer to spend our money on food and activities rather than the room. You and your DF may feel the room is more important. Whatever you decide, I guarantee you that your honeymoon will be magical. We've stayed at CSR and enjoyed it. We visit the Lodges often just to walk around and we have AKL booked for January. The BC is lovely, but the extra cost may not be worth it if you have to scrap your plans to stay there. Talk to your DF about it and review your budget - I'm sure the answer will eventually become clear. Congrats and have fun!

How much are you planning on staying in the rooms? We are staying Animal Kingdom Lodge Concierge Level for our HM. We plan on sitting on the balcony watching the animals. We are also going to come back in the middle of the day to nap and relax which is why I wanted a deluxe resort.

The new offer saved us over $1600. So we changed our first night from Pop to AKL CL making it a 9 night stay and we're still saving $1100. I'm quite in love with the deal.

Thanks for everyone suggestions! We switched to Beach Club Resort! I'm so freakin excited!!!!

personally i'd rather stay at a nicer hotel than go to cirque de soile (those kinds of things creep me out anyway). i've stayed in enough crappy hotels in my life that i will always choose the nicer hotel if i can. besides.. on your honeymoon you probably spend more *ahem* time in your hotel room than on other vacations.

I think you made a great choice! The beach club is a great resort, and it has the best pool on Disney property!

So I'm a little slow... what is the "new offer"? Can anyone give me more details on this and how I book this special offer? Thanks!

You made a great choice! Once you stay deluxe you will never stay at a mod or value again. Trust me lol.

The pool is awesome there! You will love being able to walk to Epcot and if your up to a longer walk DHS.

How long of a walk is it to Hollywood Studios and Epcot?

I'm not Lynn, but it's 5 minutes to Epcot and 10 to DHS.

I just read at the bottom of the thread that you've booked your HM at BC. We had booked ours there too because of the pool...we're actually having a "family honeymoon" after our wedding as we already have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I figured we would spend the afternoons relaxing by the pool...but I just read that Storm-Along Bay will be closed when we're there (Feb 09)!!! Check out Park Closures to see if it'll still be under construction when you're there...it seems to me it was going to be shut down for a good couple of months.

I'm sooo upset, and hoping that we can move some where else. I'd love to do the Poly, but it's that much more expensive.

Just wanted to let you know...it was a big upset for me...

I heard that they are only closing sections of the pool at a time. The pool is huge, so it probably won't effect you.
