Hi this is my first post. We are planning on visiting the world for our honeymoon in either feb or march 2018. Those are the months we have chosen for our wedding. I have been several times before and always stayed on site. With children though. This is the first time as a couple. Which resort would you recommend for a honeymoon couple. I may rent dvc points depending on suggestions. It will be for a 12-14 night stay. Thankyou xx

For a stay that long, I would recommend resort-hopping! Our honeymoon was about 12 nights and we stayed 4 places - two weekday DVC rentals (Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge) and two weekend stays, one at the Contemporary and one at the Grand Floridian. Even if you only stayed 2 places, changing to a new resort makes your honeymoon feel much longer and gives you opportunities to have different experiences.

Here's an episode of my podcast where we talk about how to choose a honeymoon resort at Disney: http://disneyweddingpodcast.com/2012/02/22/top-3-most-romantic-resorts-at-walt-disney-world/

We're staying at AKL for our honeymoon because my family is also staying there and owns DVC points at AKL and it is one of the cheaper resorts to rent DVC points from. However, if I was going to pick, I would choose the Polynesian! The studios are newly renovated, you can monorail to both MK and Epcot, you can view wishes from the resort, it is romantic with the beach and torch lighting, and it gives you access to restaurants on the monorail line. I would probably split though and do Beach Club or AKL for 6 nights and then the Poly for 6 nights.

First of all, congrats!!

I second the resort hopping suggestion! We just got married in August and had a 12 night honeymoon at WDW (first trip for both of us!). Because it was our first trip, we were eager to stay at different places and really experience it all. We rented DVC points for a studio and stayed at AKL, Boardwalk, and Bay Lake Tower. Our favorite was, by far, Boardwalk. As Epcot lovers, we just couldn't beat the proximity!! AK was nice and the most luxurious feeling, but far from the parks. Bay Lake Towers was the least impressive as far as theming and experience was concerned, but proximity to MK was very nice!

Good luck as you decide!!
