Hey all. This is my first post here, so if I do anything wrong, please let me know. :)

Next June, my then wife and I will be going on our honeymoon to WDW. Since the trip is only a month after our wedding, we are uncertain how we should book the trip. Her maiden name or married name? We both want her key card to have the married last name on it, but we're not sure if all the paper work will be done by then.:confused3

Anybody out there have any experience with this? Advice? Suggestions?
Thanks a lot!!

Welcome to the boards!! you could book it either way....if her name is changed already and it's booked in her maiden name, just have the marriage certificate to proove it otherwise.

You should try asking this in the disney weddings and honeymoon section...they will have all the answers there for ya!

I don't think that Disney has that strict of rules saying that you have to show proof of name change in order to check in. If she were to go to the front desk at check in and only have her maiden name present on the Driver's License, as long as you would have the marriage certificate with you, they should accept it. (I would call ahead of time and see if that's acceptable.) That's only if the paperwork hasn't gone through. If it has, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Oh, and congrats on getting married.

If you are flying, the plane tickets would have to be in the name matching her ID. I don't know if the airports will accept a marriage license.

I don't think it will matter with the resort as I'm sure your reservation will be marked "honeymoon".

I have to second what everyone else is saying - have a copy of the legal wedding cert. w/you & things s/be okay.

Just be sure you have the legal one. I know some churches give you an unofficial, church wedding certificate along w/the legal one you file w/the state. The one you need to bring is the legal one.

Have a wonderful honeymoon & make sure you let everyone @ WDW know - they will make it even more special for you.

Thanks, everyone, for the advice. We booked our honeymoon earlier tonight!!! SOOOOOO EXCITED!! We booked under her maiden name, just to be safe.

Thanks again!
