Tuesday November 2nd: The Birthday.

Originally our plan called for us to go to wet n wild in the morning on this day however we were so beat from the first 2 days we decided to take things very very slowly. So we got up. Walked to ponderosa for breakfast, and promptly stuffed ourselves stupid. A lot of people say that ponderosa attracts the naff type tourists in football shirts but personally im a big fan of the place. The breakfast there value for money wise cant be beat(and no im not a football shirt wearer :p ).

So we filled ourselves full of grub and made our way back to the hotel where we caught a taxi to the Florida mall. Once inside I pointed Jessica at the shops and said “sweety happy birthday buy anything you want”. And she did :p she came away with bag after bag of stuff heh. Truth be told we lost count of the amount spent in the end but it was somewhere between $400 and $700. But it doesn’t matter because that was the whole idea. She had a great time and so did i. I do enjoy a good bit of shopping. Managed to get myself a few t-shirts, casual trousers, and a new watch. Which is a small feat in itself because im picky about watches. The week before I came away my watch strap busted, then on the plane my backup/spare watch broke as I was altering the time. I thought I had no chance to find one I like but the first one I tried on suited me great.

By the time we were finished with our humongus shopping spree it was around 4:30 so we caught a taxi back to the hotel. Freshend up. Got dressed in our new duds and headed to city walk.

And immedietly made a beeline for jimmy buffets. There was a lil bit of a line outside so we got Jessica a margherita to stand in line with hehehe. We ended up being sat in about 10 minutes in the porch area at the front of a restaurant. It was nicely decorated and had a nice lively atmosphere as well as a live one man band playing jimmy buffet songs. The place was huge though. Going back miles n miles. The volcano bar was especially cool. The food was amazing. The service excellent. And the setting fantastic.

I had the hand pulled guava bbq pork sandwich and Jessica had the guava bbq ribs. Both were excellent and boy was the guava bbq spicy hehe.

We stayed for a few drinks after our meal too. My one complaint, and this goes for all of universal as well as most restaurants in the area, is that alcohol was flaming expensive. A beer was costing me the same price as a pint back home or sometimes more. And don’t get me started on the price of the cocktails. It strikes me as odd really as there are a few bars/restaurants that do things at reasonable prices, and the gas stations and liquor stores were cheap as heck. So why do they over charge for it?

Anyway after a few drinks we decided to call it a night and caught a taxi back to the hotel, grabbed a 6 pack from the liquor store and lay in bed chilling out with some beer and a movie.

A Great day and a great birthday. Day 4 islands of adventure… the hangover aftermath coming soon.

We are going to try Margaritaville :) Looking forward to a cocktail or two ;)

Another great day!! Happy Birthday to Jessica :) :)
