Hi

I am looking for prices for Orlando flydrives for July 2006. Does anybody recommend any good websites or travel companies that offer good prices on (Virgin. BA etc flights)?

I would like to fly London - Orlando then back from Miami to London (both non stop)

Many sites do not offer these dates yet, such as Virgin Atlantic, and I am trying to get my honeymoon booked. When is the best time to book as many do not offer flights less than 11 months in advance.

Virgin Holidays quoted me £1628 for 2 adults for the above flights and basic car hire for 2 weeks.

BA Holidays quoted me £2068 for 2 adults for the above flights and basic car hire for 2 weeks.

Do you feel you can get a better deal by getting a fly drive then arranging hotel through the web than by booking through the likes of Virgin Holidays, Funway, Lunn Poly etc however I welcome any money saving advice!

We are planning to stay at the JW Marriott for 10 nights and the Ritz Carlton South Beach for 4 nights if we hopefully can get a good deal!! (hoping it will cost no more than £2500 !!!!!

Thanks

Ian

try www.expedia.co.uk or www.travelocity.co.uk you will have to book at 11 months from the return date think you could book end of june from the end of this august when booking select there multitrip for the different airports if you can only get one airport trip from miami to orlando takes no more then 4 hours if you book 11 months out tends to be cheaper than leving it

Paul? £16,035???!!!!

Welcome to the Dis Ian :)

I found booking with Bon Voyage saved me money over booking with Virgin directly. July isn't the cheapest time to go unfortunately.

Did you prices for car hire include insurance? If not that will bump the price up.

Sounds like a wonderful honeymoon - many congratulations :)

Hi Ian
http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/florida/ has booking for dec2006, so you should be able to get a price that way. I did a quick price availability for orlando going out on the 3/7/06 and the price was about £1300 approx but that was just with basic everything and a date plucked from thin air to see if they were selling.

as to difference - we always book through lunn poly as they honour the discount that the web can offer us, but we are regular customers with them spending 1000s of pounds with them every year for various locations but generally orlando with virgin.

dont know if that helps.

I just got a brochure through from Cosmos. If you book before the 15th september this year (for a package deal) you can upgrade to Monarch Premier for £60 return.

They do some pretty good deals so it might be worth checking them out.

www.cosmosholidays.co.uk

Airtours also do twin centre packages, as do Virgin.

We went to Florida for our honeymoon last year, with Virgin, and had a fantastic time. Good luck :teeth:

sorry miffy it was £1635 lol

Thanks guys for all your help!!

Just one last point..

If I do book with Virgin Holidays is it worth taking out their platinum car insurance deal over their standard insurance?

Does this mean that when we get to Florida we have no further charges to pay ? apart from tolls etc ?

Would definitely not purchase their upgrade insurance. Somebody on here was saying the other day that you can take out a separate insurance policy and save a fortune. Apparently, the tour operators really bump the price up.

Might be worth putting up a new thread to ask.

we take out the platinum package here becuase it is much cheaper here than in the states.
it also covers you for more than one driver, includes car seats if you need them,
and there is nothing else to pay.

we have included the platinum package in our price for march next year, and took it out for the hol in feb this year.
