Hi everyone! I'm new to these boards, but this doesn't seem like a subject that has been addressed too much, so I'll go ahead and ask:
I've recently signed up for the Honeymoon registry as I'll be in WDW for my honeymoon next June. I'm beginning to have doubts, however. I originally thought the idea was fantastic, because it gives our guests an opportunity to give me and my fiance something unique, interesting, and fun as their gift to us, but I've been reading a lot of really bad things about honeymoon registries at large. A lot of people see them as just another way to ask for money instead of "real" presents, which is seen as very very rude. Rude is the last thing I want to appear as to my guests, and they needn't give me anything! Plus, some shady honeymoon registry sites charge guests to use them (so X% of their gift actually goes to the website, not to the B&G). We're also registered at Target, and we're not putting any of our registry info on our website or in our invites. Additionally, we're paying for the lodging and dining plan ourselves, and just added things like behind the scenes tours, souvenirs etc. (oh and a meal at Victoria and Alberts, if anyone is feeling extremely generous!)
What are people's opinions on the Disney Honeymoon registry? I find that it's a little less crass than other honeymoon registries, and comes off as truly more gift giving and less straight up cash giving (even though ultimately it is just cash--except it is cash that can only be used at disney, for disney stuff).
