Has anyone done the honeymoon registry? I just looked at a sample and the thing I was really impressed with was that you can get disney kitchen stuff! Is it worth it?

Yes! I really think it's worth it. I didn't think that anyone was going to use it, but 2 of our guests have already given very generous gifts on it! It doesn't really matter what you pick for your gifts, because they just add the money amount on a giftcard, so you can spend that money anyway you want, and anywhere that accepts Disney Gift Cards.

If you aren't going to Disney, then it would not be worth it at all, but if you are goinog to Disney, I say give it a try! :thumbsup2

I didn't use it, but if it had been available at the time, I probably would have. Anytime you can "trick" people into giving money instead of presents, you're better off. I can't even tell you how many gifts we were given that I have no use for. (Even things off our registry... people had a knack for choosing things that I just put on there to get more selection.)

We are ONLY doing the Honeymoon Registry.

Both of us have been independent for quite a while and don't "need" anything. This way, we can enjoy dining at our favorite places and go on some tours over the next few years. We are having a VERY short honeymoon, as I am moving also.

Everyone I've told so far thinks it's a marvelous idea and this way I don't have to pack anything else!

We're using it, and people LOVE it because it's like they are actually 'buying' you something instead of just handing you money, you know? We are SHOCKED that so many people have done it, but we have about $1000 so far for our honeymoon and that was just from shower gifts  We are thrilled that this was an expense we don't have to worry about anymore. Plus, we only got about 4 random shower gifts because a lot of people did this! :thumbsup2

We're using the registry also and were very surprised at the amount of contributions that people have made. My bridal shower isn't till August 4th and we already have enough that we could upgrade to a deluxe resort and still have plenty of spending $$ left on the card. :) Its a nice alternative to traditional gifts. We weren't expecting anyone to use it either.

I see by your countdown that you will be there right after we are...

Our date is 10/10 at the Wedding Pavilion....how about ya'll?

Im sure this has been posted somewhere, but I can't find it.

--> Do you have to have a honeymoon already booked through Disney before you can sign up for the registry?

Maggie

We'll be married 10/27 and we're driving from NC to Disney on 10/28. Will you be down there then?

We'll be there 10/7 thru 10/14...short trip for a honeymoon I know, but we have to MOVE me from Texas to Illinois also!

And YES...you have to have a reservation number AT Disney, before starting your Registry...at least when I did it, that was the procedure. Good Luck!!

Congrats everyone!!!

Yes, you have to sign up with your reservation number. I am not sure though if it has to be a certain number of days or not.

Okay, so I apologize if I am making anyone repeat themselves.

When we do our room block for our contract--is that when we actually book our rooms and get a reservation?? I would love to call and make reservations asap, but I'm not sure if I need to wait for my room block.

Thank you for all of the help, Maggie

I think you can book your room whenever you want. Then, when you make your room block, give them your ressie number, and they can transfer it into your block. You just have to make sure you choose a hotel that is going to be in your block.

I would only pay the one night deposit, though, when you make your reservation because your total will be discounted once it's part of the block and it's silly to pay money that you will just have to be credited back :)
