My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon, and we're trying to decide on which resort would best suit us and our special occasion. I have been to WDW several times staying at either the Polynesian or All Star Music Resorts (or off-property - NOT my choice).

We have looked at some books and the Planning Kit DVD and online; it looks like our top 4 choices are the Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, or Caribbean Beach Resorts. All seem to have their pros and cons.

We're going to be visiting at the beginning of next January - so pools really don't matter to us. However, she did mention that she would like a whirpool/jacuzzi tub. We're looking to spend 7 days/6 nights, and while I don't want to spend a fortune on the trip, I don't want to be stingy either.

If anyone has stayed at any of these resorts or has been for a honeymoon, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I know that some of these resorts have honeymoon suites too (I'm sure they cost extra as well). I'm looking to give her the best experience possible since she hasn't been to WDW since she was 5. And, in my opinion, it starts with the perfect resort.

In advance,
Thanks for all your help!

My wife and I stayed at the WL in a regular Ol' room...............There is no jacuzzi tub. But then again, we were rarely in the room, but for sleep.....
They really treated us well there.............We mentioned "honeymoon" on our check in, and they really made us feel the magic........

If the jacuzzi tub is a must, you're gonna pay.............the only way I see that would be to get a DVC villa, and to get one of those with "cash" is gonna cost you.............for the amount of time you will spend in the room, I'd save the money and use it elsewhere, like 'sit down' meals or an Illuminations cruise or something........the money could be well spent on a "Couple's Romantic Evening" at the Grand Floridian, which is basically a massage with both of you in the room, by candlelight.........its pretty sweet......... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We had a really hard time choosing a resort for part of our stay (between WL and GF) Right now we have a honeymoon suite (actually just a room) at WL which includes a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and is located on the coincerge floor which is really nice for a honeymoon. We were also looking at GF honeymoon concierge (a turret room would have been wonderful) but the cost was just so much more and we still might stay there one night before we go back home. The honeymoon suite at WL (of which there is only four) was about the same price as a standard garden view room at GF with the AAA discount. I have heard so many great things about WL and that helped us decide to book there. And remember you can still go to the other resorts to expeirence things, like Victoria and Alberts at gf (which we are looking so forward to) and countless other romantic things.

How do you get the discounts? Do you have to be a AAA member?

I did visit MouseSavers.com, but I never saw any of the mentioned "codes" actually listed on the site?

yes you have to be a AAA member (or CAA where we are from - Canada). The only problem I just noticed is that you are going January 2006 and the AAA rates for then are not out yet. They are just out for 2005. Bur anyways the savings was 15% for deluxe resorts on value season rack rates and 20% on mod and value. I'm still hoping for codes though as those savings are usaully alot more but just have to wait and see.

So, where are the codes actually located on MouseSavers.com?
I didn't see any while I was looking at the site.

My wife and I stayed at CBR for our honeymoon May 2004. We stayed in Trinidad South which is secluded and very romantic. Lots of beach to walk or lay in a hamock. Save your money for fun stuff

The problem with the CBR (and I have no doubt that it's a great place to stay when it's warmer, I would love to) is that we're going in January. So I really don't know how much we could truly enjoy the beach.

Thanks for the advice though.

I would stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I love the Grand Floridian, but if money is a consideration, I would rather spend it on actually doing stuff. The Wilderness Lodge is still a delux resort, but it is much cheaper, and since its your honeymoon, I would splurge a little rather than staying at CBR :)

As for the codes - they'll probably be out later in the year. If you aren't going to book a package, I would make reservations now, and then when the discount codes come up for your dates, you can always cancel or change the existing reservation.

Enjoy your honeymoon. We had a blast on ours!

My fiance and I are staying at the Poly for 8 days and 7 nights. :Pinkbounc
I am very excited since both of us have not been there for quite a few years now! We decided on it because of the atmosphere since we also wanted to go to Hawaii and thought we would combine them in one trip. :teeth:

Good luck with your decision and check out tikiman's webpage for more info on the poly it has been extremely helpful to us!
