Ok, it's been decided, we are going to WDW after our cruise in September (where we'll be renewing our vows). I was trying to figure a way to work in the MK photoshoot, but $1000 is just too much to add to this mounting bill. I've seen some engagement and honeymoon photoshoots and was wondering if someone could tell me how much they run? Who did them (disney or outside photographer)? I loved how they made the couple look like they were the only ones in the park even though it was normal park hours. (yes, a part of me would LOVE to do the MK shoot) but I am not even wearing a wedding dress and that just seems so appropriate with a wedding gown.

Disney's Honeymoon Photographic Session is $295 and you get 20 4x6 prints in an album. They are taken by Disney's pro photographers, not Photopass photographers.

You can also hire your own outside photographer to take pix of you during regular park hours. Depending on the photographer, this could cost less and yield more prints, or at least all the photos on disc.

We're going to do a photo shoot with our wedding photographers, Nathan & Jensey Root, in the parks in September. :thumbsup2

It is my understanding that to do an IN park honeymoon shoot, you must use Disney Photographers. I'm not sure what the packages are anymore but you can contact them at 1-407-827-1349 and see what they say.

I also know that some folks have done honeymoon/engagement shots around the resorts (or even DTD) and for that I'm pretty sure you can use an outside photographer.

Hope that helps!

I have booked Randy Chapman for my honeymoon and he is doing our session at the Grand Floridian. His fee is £375 and that gets us a 4x6 of every photo plus the master DVD which gives us the copyrights to all the images. For us that was a great deal, especially considering Randy's popularity and quality.

hiwaygal is correct about the in park shoots and outside photographers. This is not to say is hasn't been done, but when we were first starting our planning, we were considering CRT for our luncheon and having Randy do some photos and he said if he were caught doing it, he could be removed from their list of acceptable vendors. So I am not sure if Roots has checked this out with Disney, but they may want to check what the current status is on outside photographers in the park.

I think the price has gone up a little for the honeymoon shoots too. I was thinking it was a little over $300 now. Check the DFTW website for sure. If you do a honeymoon shoot, do it as early as possible to avoid excess people in the photos. That usually works well. They try to schedule them so they are done by 11 am, I think ours was at 10am. Most people are respectful when they see a DPS photographer lugging a camera bag and a couple of cameras and do stay out of the way for pictures. You aren't likely to get a good castle shot without anyone though :sad1:

You have up to a year to do your MK shoot, so would it be possible to return within a year and do the shoot later, so you could save some more $$. I know Janet2K didn't do a "formal" gown for her VR, she had a very pretty floor length gown, more of a destination wedding dress of sorts, and they did the MK shoot and their photos were awesome. It is really worth the $$ if you can swing it, even without a formal gown !!!
