My FDH and I will be celebrating our Disneymoon from 9/28 to 10/06 at WDW. We are wanting to get the honeymoon photos at Epcot and MK.
I have called about WDW Photography and Gifts of a Lifetimes prices. Has anyone used either? If so what did you think, did you like the photos? Would you use someone else? Both packages take about an hour and half at each park. One is $300.00 and you keep the proof and the other is $225. and they give you the film. Would love to hear from those who have used either service!!! Thanks!

We used the Disney ones on our honeymoon 2 years ago- I believe things have changed with them since then (thank goodness, we had alot of issues....) We got it through our "package" so that is the only reason we did it. We only got 12 shots and it was ones that "They picked" (we were never told about that until after it was all said and done....) They were nice pictures, but most of them were ones we could have taken ourselves (by asking other people to take a picture of us) If it were me and I was doing it all over again- I would go with Gifts of a Lifetime because you get the whole roll of film rather than just a select few pictures (again, this is from my experience 2 years ago and we only got 12 out of 24 shots)
We also only got to do MK

Thanks for the advise, that is exactly what I was afraid of. I would rather have the whole roll and be able to do with them as I please. So many decisions!!!!UGH!!!!! Thanks again..lol!

You are more than welcome- again, it was 2 years ago and we didn't even get our proofs. I did end up writing a letter (which is what makes me think their policy has changed somewhat) because some of the "really good" pictures weren't in the bunch that they gave us in the album. Once I wrote the letter (because before the letter I sent them an email directly and they said that the pictures were already deleted....) I ended up getting 5 more pictures (the ones I really wanted) and a letter of appology for their "misscommunication of their services". Still I think that getting the negatives is a better deal in my opinion because then you can pick and chose which pictures came out the best.

Anyone else have any reviews or pictures from either of these, Disney or Gifts of a Lifetime?

We're considering this too but don't want to waste money if they are just mediocre pictures that we could take ourselves or ask a random person to snap for us. I also do not like the idea of Disney choosing what they think are the best photos for us.

I agree! I would love to hear from those who have gone through GOAL. I still think it would be a better deal than WDW. At least you would own the pics! Wonder if there are any other services that do this??????

Doesn't Disney have a new thing with pictures now?
It's not a "package", but they have CM's who will go around and take pictures of your family and then put them on a website and you can order them when you get home. I know this service is knew this year, but I don't know a whole lot about it. It may be better just to snatch a CM when a photo opportunity arises then to pay for a whole package.
Well, just a thought!
Also, if you choose a "honeymoon" package through Disney, you get to go into either MK or Epcot and have pictures done. I belive they give you all the ones that were taken and even give you an album with 20 or so pics in it. The coat for that is around $295 (2004 price). it may have went up!

The "new thing" with photos is the photopass system which is basically the same as having your photo taken in the park as you entered (just as before), however now you can go home and view your photos rather than going to the photo location at the park. It's not the same as having a Honeymoon shoot.

I just received this in an email from Gifts of a Lifetime:

We recently turned all Catch the Magic photo events over to “Photography by Brooke” digital photography services. You will need to speak with her regarding the photo services. Her email address is wdwpixies@msn.com. I do not know her current schedule and I know it varies. One this you must put in your email to her is the date(s) you may be requesting her services. Pricing can be dependent on time of year and day of the week.

We are using Brooke in sept just for regulaer pictures. She has been incredible in answering any and all questions I have had and always responds very quickly. I feel very comfortable using her and I feel like she will do whatever we ask her as far as the pics go instead of some stuffy photographer you dont know. :) I will post my pics on this thread when we return incase it will help someone. we are having photos at the WL and the MK.
