My fiancee and I are taking the 4 night cruise on the Wonder in May. I wondered if they do any "upgrading or anything special for honeymooners. Any help would be great!!

I've never heard of upgrading for being newlyweds, although many folks have been upgraded to make space available in the less expensive cabins. You may have a cake or something at dinner if your servers are aware you are on your honeymoon.

Make sure Disney knows ahead of time you are honeymooning (sp?). Even if you booked through a TA, call DCL directly and let them know (it will be put on your dossier). Should DCL choose to do something special...at least you're in the system.

We did the Wonder for our Honeymoon way back in 2002  Although there were no upgrades for us, you definately want to tell your TA and/or DCL that you are celebrating! We were seated in a "honeymooners section" for our dinner seating and it was so nice! On the first night, the waitstaff sang happy honeymoon to all of us, and you get pins that say you're celebrating. You are treated just a bit more special, but don't hope for the Walt Disney Suite ;)

It never hurts to ask when you are checking in. My ex and I were celebrating our engagement and we were upgraded from a Category 10 to a Category 8, and all we did was ask at the counter if they did anything special.

Hi

We celebrated out honemoon on the Wonder in 2003 and will be going on DCL #3 in a few weeks.
We did get the honeymoon cake at dinner one night but besides that no other mention of the honeymoon.

It will be a great time, and it is a great place for honeymooners!

My DH and I just honeymooned on the 4-day Wonder in October...We had such a wonderful time! We had booked a Category 6 and were not upgraded, however, our TA was extremely kind and when we got to our cabin, we had CONGRATULATIONS decorations all over, a cake and a bottle of champagne. We also had a note from DCL congratulating us on our wedding. Then, at dinner the first night the waitstaff sang "Happy Honeymoon" to us also and we got ANOTHER cake. We also got the pins (I think they say "It's My Honeymoon!" or something like that) which we wore the whole time and EVERYONE told us congratulations, it was really a fun time :wizard:

DH and I just got back from the wonder last night :( . We were celebrating our honeymoon and on the first night of dining Lloyd from south africa told us to wait awhile, since we were done and getting ready to leave (he had a huge table he was taking care of). We waited for a couple of minutes when Lloyd, Ercan (the assistant server) and the head server and several servers came to our tables and presented us with a cake that said "congratulations" on it. Then the head server gave us some pins that said "we are celebrating our honeymoon".

On the 2nd day of dining, the head server greeted us "oh and here are our honeymooners, table 22, please". I thought that was a "wow" factor...hehehe

On the 2nd day I decided to get a last minute facial and they had an opening. Elizma (another south african) was the one helping me and when we were talking I mentioned I was on my honeymoon. THe next day in my stateroom was a pass for two to use the tropical rainforest for me and DH from Elizma.

On our last night we went to Palo and Michael from the Philippines was so nice to us, he took real good care of us! We sampled some dished that we didn't order courtesy of him and boy did he take care of us when dessert came!!! He didn't even give us the menu to choose from he ordered them himself and he did not fail us!!!

So even if a Congratulations was the only thing we got we would've been happy but with the little extra perks sure made it extra special!!! Oh and I forgot to mention, our travel agent got us the memory box and it was waiting for us in our stateroom when we arrived :earboy2:

DH and I just had our disneymoon in the wonder in Sept. and it was heaven. We went in between the last two hurricans with smooth sailing! We are castaway club members so we didn't have to wait in the long check in line. However we were in a catagory 11 room so we were going to have to wait in a very long line to board the ship. But the cast member, upon finding out it was our honeymoon, walked us up to the front of the line that was already boarding. It was really cute, as we were walking she would say. "Please make way for the bride and groom". Everyone just smiled and congradulated us. I made shirts with the iron on letters that said bride and groom on the back, so we were contantly getting congradulation from crew and guest. Our room attendant had cakes and wine in our room. It was not the big upgrade that you read about here, but we did get treated special throughout the trip.
