Hi everyone- (reasonably) long time reader, first time posting!

My fiancé and I are getting married mid March, and in the last couple of months, I have been able to convince him that we should honeymoon in DLR as neither of us have ever been! We have been reading many threads on things to do while at DLR, but few on romantic ideas for a couple (no kids). We are staying at the DLH from 19-22 March 2013- is there any close by or on-property restaurants or experiences we should prioritise? Any recommendations for the Mandara Spa (or is it just like any other spa)?

If you have any suggestions, we really appreciate it! Thanks!!

Congrats on your impending marriage what an exciting time ! I highly recommend from the suggestions of many here Napa Rose for a nice dinner one evening. My husband and I are planning to go ourselves this December as well. If you have never been Blue Bayou is great for ambiance in my opinion and though people are torn on the food - we always love the surf and turf there.

I have heard good things about Steakhouse 55 as well.

Make sure to pick up "Just Married" pins at Town Hall for sure :)

I hope you have a great time. We honeymooned at DLR and San Diego and had a blast for 9 days.

Since you're staying at DLH, you can get your "Just Married" buttons there. I second Napa Rose if your foodie kind of folks. My family loves it.

Thank you both so much :) Napa Rose sounds like a definite plan, we do love great food!

Congrats and congrats on your first post too!!! :cool1: We too will be honeymooning at Disneyland in 46 days! We already got married almost a month ago, but we had to wait a little bit to take our honeymoon because of my dh's work schedule. Disneyland has been my favorite place in the world since I was just a little kid! Happy memories from not happy childhood, you know? Dh never got to go as a kid, so to me, it's extra special when we can go now! What better than to celebrate our beautiful honeymoon there!! It will also be my Birthday on of the days we will be there and DH surprised me with a reservation to Napa Rose too!! He made the ressie himself! He even researched and found out that 5:30 is the best of the two chef's counter seatings AND that seats 5&6 are the best seats! What a guy! I'm soooo excited! We are definitely doing the "Just married" buttons too. You will receive special treatment all over the parks with those! :thumbsup2 What else? Ooooh, be sure to walk around the boardwalk at DCA at night sloooowly, hand in hand and get a warm churro. It is so beautiful and romantic with all the lights there at night! We adore blue bayou and think the braised short ribs are to die for! The ambiance is incredible in there too, VERY romantic! Be sure to as for a water side table if you to go there! DTD is also very romantic at night! They have live musicians and pretty little lights everywhere. Lovely to get a drink from the Uva bar and just soak up the atmosphere. I love sitting out and people watching under the shade of the trees and umbrellas in the morning at the Jolly Holiday Bakery with a cup of coffee and one of their HUGE cupcakes too! Perfect for sharing! :D Be sure to steal a kiss on Pirates too! Not while riding for your very first time though....that would be blasphemous. :lmao: Have an amazing time!!!

We honeymooned and last year did an X0 anniversary at the resort. This last time I splurged a little. If you can, go concierge even if it means PPH as opposed to the DLH. The park view was awesome. Some pics. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2302209000461.138479.1406302301&type=3

We did the WOC dinning package and it was so-so. Dinner was great was the process of viewing left a little to be desired. Next time I would do the dessert package for F! Make sure you get reservations for that though.

Although we didn't do this last time, I have piloted the Mark Twain. Just ask and you might be able to do it also.

Most importantly, relax and enjoy the resort.

In my signature, I have links to pictures of the in-room celebration I did for our 1st anniversary. It was called From Mickey & Minnie with Love. My DH was so surprised.

Go back to the Laugh Factory in Toon Town and make some wedding Mickey ears. White base, black ears, and they will embroider both of your names and your wedding date on them for you. We did that, and it's one of my favorite Disney souvenirs ever!

Great pictures! I would recommend Blue Bayou. For the record I have never done it but it seems to be a must for all POTC fans. We are going on this next trip.

Congrats by the way!:cool1:

Blue Bayou is great, so is Carthay Circle Theater in DCA. Very good food, not as romantic feeling but it is pretty amazing. :) Or simply go into the lounge at CCT and have a drink and maybe a small plate or two. We did that last weekend with DBF's parents and we all very much enjoyed ourselves. :)

congratulations to you both, get the ears and the button and you'll get plenty of wonderful wishes from CM's and guests alike! Most of all, enjoy yourselves. Don't limit yourselves to the DL/DCA/DTD area, venture to the GardenWalk for great dining choices and maybe a movie. Rent a car (if you won't have one) and go to the beach, there are so many great things to do in that area.

One thing I would recommend is telling anyone you make a reservation with that it is your honeymoon. So call and tell the DLH, and they'll have your "Just Married" buttons for you. Tell them when you make a dining reservation, etc. You never know what special Disney magic they will dream up. On a B-day trip to WDW, there was a B-day card signed by the Fab Five in my room when we arrived. And I got B-day cards from the characters at character meals, and sometimes a special cupcake or dessert. Just fun little things like that to make the day magical.

The other thing I'd suggest is the nighttime shows like F!, WOC and fireworks. There is just something romantic about fireworks and water shows! You can do the dining package, or if you are on a budget, just find a spot and sit down to snuggle for a bit.

Congrats! I can't recommend anything to you, as I have only been to Disneyland once and that was with my kids. But I know lots of couples who have had great honeymoons in Disneyland. Just wanted to let you know that it will likely be very busy at the time you are going. Many schools will be having spring break that week.

Thanks everyone- will definitely make sure to get the Married pins and note it on all our reservations. The dessert option for F! looks great too- think I'll keep that one a surprise! :)

Want someone to save you the best seats and go get your fast passes so you can just enjoy everything like a honeymooner should? I just got back and booked mouse expedition for one day and a premium VIP guide for $275 an hour for the next day. There was no competition. Check his reviews on yelp, Facebook or go to his website. I promise you won't be disappointed. You can ride everything you want to in one day,
