Honeymoon HELP!

I would recommend the Y & BC resorts, they are fantastic.
You can use either hotel as they are next door to each other. The pool is fantastic, the beach is lovely, and it is 5 minutes walk to Epcot & MGM, and a 2 minute walk to the boardwalk. Perfect! What more you could you ask for?

Congrats GorshGoofy!!! How exciting!! Post how you did it, I LOVE reading proposal stories!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Sorry for the delay in responding. We are an older couple ( 50/ princess: 45). We were friends and co-workers more than 10 years ago. Job requirements and other personal matters prohibited us from developing a relationship then even though there was a spark between us. My work transfer pulled me away from that community before anything could develop and we lost touch with each other. Late last summer she e-mailed me after a decade of no communication. As we talked we both realized that we had never forgotten each other. Finally we met last fall and talked all day. By the time we parted that evening we knew that the spark was not only still there but had some real potential. The decision to marry was the result of a casual conversation in which we discussed our future. I still need to present her a ring. I'm debating on how and when to do that. At our ages and with our kids and family members (and ex's) we are dealing with some rather complex dynamics. Would love to hear stories of how others have dealt with those dynamics or stories about how to present a ring and make it "completely official".

Well, we don't have quite the family dynamics to deal with as you and your DF do... but as far as proposal stories... We had known we wanted to get married for a while but it was always a matter of money (as in, we have NONE). I thought at Christmas, he was for sure going to ask me, but the Holiday came and went without even a peep. Then it was my companys holiday party in Janurary. 500 people, including the regional president. Adam had to duck out to check something at work. Nothing unusual. As I am talking to a co-worker, she looks over my shoulder and asks "Why is your boyfriend on stage with the DJ... with a microphone?!?!". I looked and sure enough, there he was. Now, him being an actor, and a dj, I really didn't think anything of it so I went back to my conversation -- completely missing all the sweet and wonderful things he had said about me to my 500 co-workers. Finally the woman I was talking to was like "Danielle, PAY ATTENTION". Finally it sunk it and I was in tears. He walked towards me and I finally got some feeling in my legs and met him halfway. He got down on a knee and asked me to marry him with a custome designed ring that held my mother's stone from her wedding ring with my father (who died a LONG time ago). It was amazing. He had actually gone to the trouble of getting our regional president and his assistant involved with the planning. So there ya go. :)

Yes, if you can afford it, it is completely worth staying at Beach Club over a moderate. I'm not bashing the moderates - they are very nice. But, this is your honeymoon. On my first honeymoon, I stayed at an unmemorable resort, and it didn't make for a memorable honeymoon.

You can rent points. Just go to the DVC forum, on the main discussions forum, and go to the DVC rent/trade board. You should look at paying $10 per point.

I ended up going with a DVC member who was renting points at the BWV. It was a little more than $10. per point but I think we got a great deal in comparison to the rack rates Disney would've charged!
