Have any of you taken your honeymoon at the parks? My fiancé and I don't have a date nailed down for the actual wedding yet, and I was looking at the park schedule around September/October of this year to base what we'd do next year. I'm trying to avoid the Halloween party if possible so the end of September maybe?

If you've been to the Halloween party, did you enjoy it? We're not bringing our son on our honeymoon obviously so it would just be us.....do adults only go to the party? I also want to do a few nice dinners while we're there. Looking at 5 full days in the parks so I was thinking of flying in Sunday late afternoon, Mon-Fri in the parks and then flying out Saturday sometime.

Any advice is greatly welcomed. Also looking at staying at the DLH. I've been the parks quite a few times growing up and then recently with my son and father twice, my fiancé has only been to WDW.

Ive been to the Halloween party at WDW and had a blast. Hubby and I plan to go to it together just the two of us in the next year or two. Im not sure if the DL party is different though... Anyone?

We had our honeymoon at DL way back in 1999, it was my first trip to DL in fact! We stayed CL at the DLH and it was wonderful.

The Halloween parties usually run from the end of September through October. This year, the parties started on September 25th. There may be other "events" going on, such as Gay days. I believe that unofficial event runs during the first part of October. We were there September 25th-30th, so were there for 2 Halloween parties but left the day before Gay days started.

If you want to avoid the Halloween parties, I would suggest going the first couple weeks of September (after school starts) or earlier November (after Halloween is over, before the Thanksgiving crowds).

The Halloween parties are lots of fun!! There is plenty for adults to do there. While it is a "child-friendly" event, it is not specifically catered to children. I know we loved dressing up and trick or treating and seeing the parade. The fireworks were awesome as well! Ride times are generally not as long during Halloween parties as well.

Thanks for the tip, however we'd like our wedding to be at the end of September 2nd week of October time frame. Early November is our sons birthday too. Do you recall how crowded it was the days the Halloween parties were held?

It was fairly crowded, but not as crowded as when we went in December (1 1/2 weeks before Christmas) can be. This year was also different, because it was the 60th anniversary. I'm sure with the construction going on the next few years, the crowds won't be as bad.

Also, if you don't end up doing the Halloween parties, the park closes early to the general public (around 6-7 p.m. depending on the day). They start letting in the party attendees at around 3-4 p.m. (depending on the day). This is when the crowds merge over to California Adventure and can become crowded there, especially if the party is on a Friday. The Halloween parties are generally done on Mondays or Tuesdays and Fridays every week from the end of September throughout October.

Awesome thank you! I think we were looking at the week of 9/24 or the week of 10/01. Not really sure which would be worse, especially if they start that last full week of September.

We had our honeymoon in Disneyland four years ago in July. It was great!

Make sure you get your "just married" pins! We got a lot of extra attention, free fast passes, and desserts because of it.

The bride/groom ears they had were super cute. I'm not sure if they still have them?

We decided to splurge and do the WOC dining package, and the fantasmic dessert package they had. We took our time in the parks, and made sure to have fun!

The photographers in the park took some great pictures for us too! I ended up getting a couple different Mickey and Minnie wedding frames to ot them in to make them extra special.

Sure! I know it can be hard trying to find good dates to go. We're in the process of trying to get dates together for this year's trips!!

If I were in your situation, I would do the week of 9/24, just because I think it would be less crowded than the following week if Gay days is during the usual first week in October (for example, I just looked it up and this year they will be going on from September 30-October 2). By your dates in September, you'll probably miss the majority of the crowds that the event draws. Either way, you'll still have tons of fun whichever week you choose, though.

The Halloween parties in early September are usually the ones that don't sell out, as well. Last year, the September 25th party sold out but the September 28th party did not. I believe all of the party dates in October ended up selling out last year.

The 26th and 29th of September 2017 or the 3rd and 6th of October 2017 will probably be the Halloween party dates, if the days of the week are the same as they did this year.

Do you know about the time the tickets for the party go on sale? I know we'll obviously book our hotel far in advance of those going on sale, but would like to be prepared to maybe get at least one of the Halloween parties in and use the other night to maybe dine at Napa Rose or Steakhouse 55.

The tickets for Annual Passholders go on sale in mid to late July (last year it was July 22nd). They then go on sale to the general public about a week later. Be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible, as they can sell out fairly quickly.

The Disney Parks Blog is the website that announces the prices, dates, and details of the parties each year. They usually announce the Halloween season offerings at the resort along with the parties in later June to early July.

WE did part of our Honeymoon at WDW. Actually spent 2 weeks there. It was AMAZING. we wore the just married pins and we had many special things happen for us by cast members because of the just married badges they have.

We got married at WDW in August (and spent a little over three weeks down there) and are heading to DL this coming August for our 1 year anniversary. It was a lot of fun. They still have the bride and groom ear hats though the Just Married buttons have been replaced with Happily Ever After buttons. We wore ours and receiced lots of congratulatory comments (we also received a lot of comments on our Just Married pins we'd grabbed from DL since all the other recently married couples wanted some (and CMs wondered where we'd found them) Do splurge on a couple of big meals (I highly recommend Chef's Counter at Napa Rose and the WoC package at Carthay) and also remember to enjoy your time together in the parks. We laughed so freaking hard trying to fit into an Astro Blaster rocket without squishing anything vital and trying to get out at the end was equally entertaining!

Went to the WDW xmas party on a girls trip with another adult and we had a blast. I would not hesitate to go to the DL Halloween Party with just adults!

Thanks everyone! Super excited to go. My fiancé has never been to DL and it is my home park. Can't wait to show it to him!
