Hi, Ok I read on here all the time, (might not be right place), however I don't post often. I often read things I didn't know or don't understand.

There was a mention of one thing that confused me and I wondered if someone could clarify. If on the Dining Plan they said the hot topic was kids should only order kids meals for the CS meal. Is this Disney's policy? Is this new? Last year we were told a CS meal is a CS meal and even if it was for the kids we could order whatever. I am just looking for the rule so I can make sure that I follow it on our upcoming trip.

Thanks in Advance

At one time, CS credits were all lumped together. Now, your card will state how many adults and how many kids on your plan. My understanding is that you can only order that number of kids' meals and adults' meals at one time. Some restaurants don't have a kids' menu, and kids can order adult meals at those restaurants.

It seems that the DDP brochure does state that child CS credits must be used for child meals and adult CS credits for adult meals. Somewhere there is a PDF file of the brochure, but I'm not sure where I saw it.

See page 2 of the DDP Guide. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/media/wdw_nextgen/CoreCatalog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2009%20Disney%20Dining%20Plan%20-%20Walt%20Disney%20World.pdf

That's the official policy.

That being said, we've ordered kids meals and been handed regular meals and the cashier would then ring our daughter's meal as an adult meal. It is one large pool of credits which are not separated by child vs adult which is different from how the TS credits are handled. I think this is one of those policies that Disney has in place but that many CMs all handle differently. You likely had a CM tell you to treat them however you want. Many CMs will say the same.

I sometimes have trouble keeping track of how many of the meals are kid vs adult since they are all in one big pool. We sometimes share meals making it hard to track adult vs child CS meals. My daughter generally wants a kids meal if we're all getting our own meals so it's kind of a moot point in those cases.

so when you get your receipt......it will just say X amount of CS credits?

No, it will still break down your remaining credits by Adult and Child.

When did this change? As of the beginning of March, my receipt was showing only a single pool of CS credits. For TS credits, yes they're broken down by Adult and Child but unless something changed in the last few months, the receipt will just show X amount of CS credits.

We just used the DDP at the end of April. Your CS receipt will not differentiate between adult and child credits. However, you KTTW card will say, for example, 2 adults, 2 children. So when you order, if you try to order 3 adult CS meals, the CM should (may or may not actually happen) check your card and see that you should only be ordering 2 adult meals. This happened to us at the Backlot at the Studios. The kids wanted to share a hotdog (adult meal), so I ordered 3 adult meals. The CM looked at my card and said I couldn't do that. So I explained that the kids didn't like anything on the kids menu and wanted to share a hotdog, and if they couldn't no big deal; we'd go someplace else. She relented, but said we couldn't order dessert with it. Whatever, they always eat ours, anyway!

So, OP my long winded answer is no, they are not separated on the receipts but the CM's are supposed to check your KTTW card. Some do, some do not.

Dang!! I wanted them to be seperated, we are going to start with like almost the first full day we are there, we arrive at approx 10:30pm. Our first full day we will be going shopping. So by the next morning...we will have like 12 A and 4 children and a million snack...lol not that much but close...so I wanted them to be seperate so it wouldnt be so hard to keep track of...oh well!!!!

The official Disney Policy is as stated..lots of posters have been able to do otherwise. It can not be guaranteed, and you can not plan on that being the case...Any time I tried in Sept 2008, the Cm refused to allow it since my cards said 2 adults 1 child, and I tried to order 3 adult meals. They are not supposed to allow it , some do.

You could always make up an punch card on your own with each child and adult meal listed, then cross them off as you order meals. You could make it really cute with some stickers and stuff on it. I was thinking about doing this for our upcoming trip because it will be 2 adults 3 disney adults and 1 child, this way we can keep better track of what we are using since we usually share meals between us. After a few days you forget who had a kids meal and who shared an adult meal.

OMG I forgot M I C K E Y already made me one...it is in my pm box, I have to print it....thanx for the reminder!!!!:thumbsup2

Ok got it printed....now I can keep track....Woo Hoo!!!!!

That was the way it worked back in December.

I have never tried to order CS 3 adult meals at once on the DDP. My DH and I have both stood in line and one of us ordered 2 adult meals and the other ordered 1 adult meal to get around the restriction. I think we only did this once or twice ... my DD is a vegetarian and many CS restaurants do not offer veggie options for kids. For instance, I ordered my DD the fruit plate at Flame Tree while her father and I ordered ribs. I have also ordered a kid's meal for myself and allowed my DD to eat the adult veggie option (like the cheese pizza at Pizzabarfi). I certainly don't recommend that people do this every meal! If your 9-year old eats like a Green Bay Packer, then perhaps you should pony up for the adult plan for him or her. As for us, I have a feeling that we're going to be giving back to Mickey the next time we use the DDP as my DD is now considered an "adult" and she will still eat off the kids menu.

Is this true? I have read A LOT of reviews lately saying that the CS credits are still lumped together. I know that they do separate the kids TS credits from the adults.

Just looking for accurate info....

I think the CS meals are still lumped together for accounting purposes. However, your KTTW card says something like "2A 1C" on it and some CMs will not allow you to order 3 adults meals at once.

The policy of the restaurant board is that specific discussion of ways to get around the clearly stated rules of Walt Disney World on the dining plan is not permitted on this board and will be deleted.

The policy is stated in all WDW's literature including the official brochures regarding the dining plan. You can see these through the links in the Everything You Always Wanted To Know sticky thread at the top of the dining plan forum.

The stated policy is that credits for which you paid a child's price MUST be used to order meals from a children's menu, unless the restaurant has no children's menu. (There are about six CS restaurants that do not have a children's menu. They are also listed in the above sticky thread.) CS meals are apparently not separated between adult and child because some of these CS with no children's menu still exist.

CMs at CS restaurants are supposed to check your key card to make sure you are ordering the meals to which you are entitled and nothing extra.
