Honest question about Gay Day

We are planning a trip to DW the last week of May-first few days of June. Has anyone been to DW during Gay Day/Week? We will be bringing our children and are wondering what they will be exposed to. I have heard everything from mild to extreme and am just looking for an honest opinion from someone that has been there during this time.
With a little luck, your children will be exposed to the knowledge that the world is made up of all kinds of people and that they can all live together. You could use this as a great educational opportunity.

We were there during Gay day and as our children know all about homosexuality it was a non- issue for us. You saw the same kind of displays that you see heterosexuals doing everyday in Disney.(hand holding ect..) The day we went we met some great families and other funny groups that actually made our day more fun. The only Over the Top thing that caught my middle child's eyes was a guy wearing Glitter Minnie Ears. And she thought that was funny. I wouldn't let this change any of my plans. Have fun. My kids are so excited to be at MK they couldn't care less who is holding hands.

I appreciate your honest question, and here an honest answer, you will not see anything more or different that you will with heterosexual couples. Of course, that can mean seeing just about anything! But remember, being gay does make one act any different than being straight. Have a magical time! :)

Last year we were at the world for Gay Day. We avoided the Magic Kingdom that day to avoid the crowds not the company. A notice was left on our door telling us to expect large crowds at the MK that day and to go to a different park that day if possible. There were many gay days participants at our hotel and they were no more then just another group of people enjoying their vacation like the rest of us.Many of the participants were wearing red shirts and I asked my son(14) if he had any idea why so many people had on red, he was unable to figure out they were all gay or different in any way. There were no blatent displays of sexuality or reason for anyone to feel uncomfortable.

We went a few years ago and had no idea it was during gay day. Did not see anything out of the ordinary at the parks or at the hotel. If it wasn't for the news coverage of the protests and the planes flying over with banners offering cures for homosexuality we probably would not have really noticed.

Good grief! I would have much more of a problem with the protests and other ignorance than the gays attending.
