hi...can you all tell me if you think this is a reasonable amount of spending money for souvenirs only...its for 5 full days at DLP for family of 4...excluding food, snacks etc...so only for souvenirs...will mainly be for kids and the odd thing for me...nothing for DH as he wouldnt be interested in anything lol! 600 euros? or do we need more?

everyone has a different budget for DLP - I think 600 euros is a lot of money for souvenirs, I don't and won't take anywhere near that amount, even if there were 4 of us. So I'm sure you'll have enough with that :).

To me it would be more than enough as I rarely buy souvenirs anywhere. Even you you bough a tshirt or a hoodie a piece plus a couple of pins and a plush you'd still have money left over.

Do you have any idea of what you are after and we can maybe add it up that way for you ;)

Do you get sh discount as well ? :)

thanks guys! well prob few xmas decs...fleece, jammies, princess dress, stationary for DD, only thing son will prob want is sweets and lots of em...otherwise souvenir photos!

Wow!
When my boys were young they've taken between 60 and 100 euros each. I only tend to buy Maleficent pins and the most I've spent on one is 40 euros for a jumbo pin and a christmas bauble usually costs me 10 euros.
Maybe it's because we usually fly so don't have the room for souvenirs, but my budget is nowhere near that high.

We have about €200 for souvenirs for 5 days and 2 kids and me lol. We have the 20% ap discount though but both boys so no princess dresses and I just want a few Christmas decorations!

More than enough :thumbsup2 Decorations are 10€ or so, pictures are so many for 35€, a dress is around 60/70€, fleece hoodies are going to be around 40€, stationary is under 20€, cds are under 20€ and sweets aren't that much :)

That's about the cost of our whole holiday so it seems like a lot to me but then we don't spend a great deal on souvenirs generally (although I could given half the chance!). My two usually get 20-30 euros to spend on smallish items but if you're planning on buying clothes/outfits then that will up your costs quite a bit.

Have you considered taking a travel-friendly credit card? I got one for our last trip and it was so much easier not having to plan in advance exactly how much money we'd need.

thanks guys...forgot to mention few other things...dd will prob want a couple of plush and a few princess ornaments but other than that i cant think of anything else at the minute...sounds like 600 euro will be plenty...might have to transfer some of it over to the food budget anyway so im glad there will be some to spare!

Have to say, when at DLRP we never normally say 'no' to things - well within reason of course ;). I bought a lot of pins last trip and we were there 5 nights and we didn't spend anywhere near that on souvenirs. But then to be fair, we didn't buy any dresses or clothes at all that trip (which is unusual for us). Actually, we found the girls weren't bothered - they just wanted to ride BTM all the time :rotfl2:.

But, they did both get a Duffy bear each and an outfit for him which weren't cheap.

I would say 600 euros is a lot, but you know what you want to buy and also as you say, you can swap over to food. Or, even bring back and use another time - that's the beauty of euros with being such widely accepted currency.

Depends how much space you have to bring stuff back in XP

Cost me - I think it was - €70 for a limited edition print in World of Disney and I think thats the most i've spent on one item - Except maybe Duffy and his outfit.

we didn't budget a particular amount - we had an idea of things we (OK, I;)) wanted - a Christmas ornament for us and one for a friend, possible a nightshirt/big t-shirt and hoody for me, maybe a t-shirt or toy for DS(13), DS(19) just knew he's want something cowboy/gun related. We didn't buy as much as I thought, but we charged everything to the room and settled up at the end by credit card, so we didn't need to carry a lot of cash. Our cash we mostly used at Parc Asterix and for tolls!
