As a homeschooling Mom, finding "lesson plans" for Disney World was a must.

But, I couldn't find many, I ended up making my own, then found this site (and more specifically the 2nd link)
Mrs. Jackson's Class Website
Walt Disney World Unit Study
Here's my "loose plans" for MK:
We've read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and are currently reading Swiss Family Robinson (well the "condensed" versions for DS6). We will visit both areas.
We've talked about Presidents of our country (their job, elections, and who all has been president) and will see Hall of Presidents on the trip.
Carousel of Progress is an interesting look at "technology history" and helps in showing how technology started out (interesting to DS6 to see "antiques" are "cutting edge" in the beginning and how the idea of the future compares to today's reality).
Math - always interesting, but DS6 will have his own money to manage, he has to calculate how many points different on Buzz Lightyear between hisself and Daddy (or hisself and me), he has to calculate times from where we are to fast pass times, or PS times - do we have time to WAIT in this 15 minute line or not?
Reading Maps - DS reads the map to find out the best way to get somewhere, or to lead us where we are going (luckily Dh and I know our way around).
We talk about the Liberty Tree's 13 lanterns and what that means (History).
I'll add more when I remember (or look at my lesson plan book)
Our plans for EPCOT:
Each Worldshowcase pavilion - KidCot, greet each person in their own language, say Thank You, and Good-bye (hopefully he'll get this down). Study the different architectures of each "land," do the Mouseforless.com homework pages, look at the different art forms for each land (I think I remember France having art there, and Norway having their viking ship, Germany has the cuckoo clocks...), we'll study some more about America here too.
Geography - he'll have to find each country on a world map
FutureWorld - The Land - learn about growing food, Living Seas will be closed, so that study went out the window, making of cars at Test Track (the GM stuff at the end), he'll blast off to Mars multiple times (his dream is to be an astronaut), World of Energy, Spaceship Earth....science and history both of those...
Time and money covered here as well...
Our plans for Animal Kingdom -
Rafiki's Planet Watch - talk about conservation, recycling, resources, and endangered species
Safari - talk about poachers after the ride, and why they are bad....play on the endangered species thing as well, see animals in natural habitat (well as natural as Disney could make it)
The "animal" trails - look at animals, study up on them through signs posted, talk to CMs along the way to get more info (as we found out last trip...FOUNTS OF KNOWLEDGE)
STudy the birds at Flights of Fancy (dh really likes this one)
stop and study the building of "Everest" and talk about rollercoaster design and testing....and the physics involved (Dh's arena)
dig up bones, see if we can get him on Dinosaur (he's been wanting to, but I doubt he rides more than once).
then..."lesson ideas" for MGM
Learn about how movies are made, how sets are facades, how something can look BIG on teh movie screen but it was made in a tiny place - talk about the MAGIC of movies.
Visit the Animation area....

soo sad it's not what it used to be
I'm trying to figure out the Stunt Show and how to tie it into something about vehicles for a "lesson plan idea"
This is the most challenging "time scheduling" place for us, so we'll see how DS does.
then...other things I'm doing:
The Journal book, I made out word searches with specifics for our trip (at least one per day), cross word puzzles specific to our trip, word scrambles for our trip, addition Math Square (3x3) for DS6, "challenging number puzzles" for DS and Dh to do together (while waiting for food or waiting to be seated), we'll be playing spelling games while waiting, I Spy, he'll be hunting Hidden Mickey's with me, and of course we'll have some books to read for the trip down and back.
Of our 12 day trip, I'm at MOST counting 6 days of school. Hope this helps some.
