i'm back from school and have a question, it's not really important what the answer is b/c it can't be changed anyways but i'm just wondering what you guys think or would have said/done or do;
on Thursday my chemistry teacher told us she would be gone on Friday but that the sub would still be able to just hand out the tests. she then told us that we would have a podcast due on Monday. well Friday rolls around and the sub hands out our tests, collects our review packets and says, "Your teacher says here to remind you that the new chapter packets aren't in yet but that your podcasts are due Tuesday *points to the board (which says 'podcast due Tuesday!') * go ahead and take your test."
so i get into chemistry today wondering if we're going to do a lab, (b/c usually we have podcasts we then do worksheets, no podcast then we do a lab), and she says, "ok guys start working on the first worksheet and i'll come around to check your podcasts." i threw a horrified look at my friend next to me and we both threw one to our friend behind me
lovestruc he's sooo cute!) *ahem* anyways...
so when i turn back around i must have still had that look on my face b/c she looks at me and asks what? and there was something about how she said it that made me get mousy, "well the sub said they were due Tuesday..." "No, the board said Monday." and i went to answer and say that it had said Tuesday but she continued, "I'm sorry if the substitute told you Tuesday, but he was incorrect. *turns to rest of class* Those of you who did not complete the podcast should go get their textbook." and just about every person stood up. (we only have a class of 18 and i'd say 12 stood up and 3 more opened their book)
now i realize that true it's not her fault the sub "told us incorrectly" but it's not ours either. and yes i know she has to keep on schedule.
but; is it fair that i'm going to be docked points for the podcast being late?
