Homeschool complete curriculum

We use Mother of Divine Grace. It has daily lesson plans and you can enroll or just buy the materials. Angelicum Academy and Seton are two others that have daily plans. Seton is traditional and angelicum is classical in method.

Good to hear about WP. It still intrigues me, but DD is enjoying Calvert right now so I am not going to switch.

How do you feel about the WP projects? We started WP Amer Story 1 last year and I was very disappointed with the "hands on" projects. Making paper based things all the time was not what my kids wanted to be doing at all. Especially my boys! The only thing they talk about from WP was the reenacting a Mayflower meal. We then switched back to SOTW and there are a LOT of activities they remember from that. Not as US based as I wanted though so that was what I had to let go of. They did like the WP books a lot.

As for Saxon Math--I tried it one year and DD would literally put her head down on the table and cry. We both found it really repetetive and really boring. We have used Singapore which both of my boys will continue with and DD as I stated will be going into Teaching Textbooks--thanks to recommendations from other DISers.

I admit that we didn't do very many of the paper projects. My dd would have done them all, but my ds has fine motor issues and didn't like them. I wasn't that impressed with them either. Farther into American Story 1 there were other things to choose from, especially when you get to the Lewis and Clark book. I have heard that American Story 2 isn't full of the paper projects like 1 is.

The biggest reason I like WP is the book selection. We have loved almost every book, especially the "adventure" reading selections.

Oh and we have Teaching Textbooks and it is such a great program :thumbsup2

I use Bob Jones Sat program. We record the classes and then the kids can watch them. I love it because if you child needs k math but 1st grade reading you can do this easy. Just takes a lot off me.

We have tried almost every math program out there. Oldest dd still does Saxon, she doesn't like it but she is almost done (Saxon advanced next year!) The second two I have switched to Teaching Textbooks......:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 ! My youngest has been super hard to fit, we are working through Math-U-See slowly and it seems to be working. Good luck, math has been the hardest thing for us to settle on.

Thanks I will take a look at these. For me personally, math was always a struggle, but my dd5 ....thankfully takes after my DH and has recently decied to just add and subtract in her head. It seems to come naturally for her.

Thanks to everyone for all the different math program suggestions...I'll have to do some research on it.

We use many books from Seton. I have heard wonderful things about Mother of Divine Grace.

We are using Math-U-See for our K math. DD is loving it. She asks to play with her math blocks all the time. So for us, it was a hit where as Saxon was a chore here.

Glad to get feedback about WP AS1. That's next on our list to do. I do skip a lot of the paper projects. We probably do one every other week or so if DD is itching for a project. But she has been enjoying the internet links.

I am looking for a complete curriculum for my DD. I am thinking about sonlight or moving beyond the page. Does anyone have any other ideas? I am looking for something that will challange my DD. I also need something that is already planned out.

Looking at your siggie here, your DD is 3yo, correct? Honestly, it's really not necessary to use a formal program at this age. But if you're really feeling like you need one, Sonlight would be a nice place to start.
