I have a front load washing machine, love it but I'm getting sick of buying the cleaner for it. stuff is ridiculously priced.

I remember some smart disser had a homemade cleaner. what do you use?

TIA

I would google it and see if you can just do something with bleach or vinegar, or check Pinterest.

Mine is almost seven years old and the only thing I've ever used is bleach. Never had any issues with it.

Manual for our LG says to use Lime Away, and that is what my wife has been using.

What are you cleaning??? We never clean ours. Just leave the door open so it dries out and does grow mildew.

I periodically wash my towels with vinegar and it cleans out the machine as well.

Run it on its hottest setting with nothing in it. The newer units have a special cycle for cleaning and use 175 degree water.

By using very little soap in mine, I have never had to clean it. I also always leave the door open after each load. It is the soap residue that tends to grow mold, so if little soap is used, no residue will build up. One teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of soap gets all my clothes clean.

How often are you doing this? We just bought a new set in May and haven't cleaned it. Wondering if I should pull out the manual and see what is suggested.
