I'm thinking of making my own autograph books for our 3rd annual Thanksgiving with Mickey for our 2 boys who will be 10 and 6 when we go. At this time I'm thinking of spiral scrapbooks. ANY ideas, suggestions, examples will be GREAT!! :earsboy:

Hey Cindy,
I'm making spiral autograph books for our next trip. I got my inspiration from soulsistas on twopeasinabucket.com ,you can do a search by name. I bought spiral scrapbooks from walmart and took them apart. I cut them down to 6x6 that way you can cut 12x12 paper into 4 sections. I used one of the sheets from the notebook to mark the holes and used a single hole punch. I went on allearsnet.com to get a list of the characters to get an idea of colors to use. I'm mostly just scraplifting ideas but I did make an Incredibles pocket by copying their emblem. Let me know if you want some pics I can scan them and email them to you.

We bought the half-sheet card stock in bright colors, cut it in half and punched holes in the upper left corner. We bound it using the loose ring binders you can get at the office supply store. Then decorated one piece to be the cover with Sarah's name on it and put little stickers on each page. For Lindsey's we used a punch, on the left on the first page and on the right for the second page, etc. We really liked that effect best, with different colored papers behind them the punches really popped out! :earseek:

Oh, and we sent them with the retractable sharpies!

got those little photo albums from big lots...flip the cover over, so it's plain white, can we decorated with our DSs names. (i made one for each), and with the dcl logo from cut outs...sorta like paper piecing, i guess.

filled the photo slots, on one side, with 5x7(?) index cards. they fit just right! so when we saw any character, our DSs just handed them the index card, along with a sharpie, and they signed the card. and we took pix of them, with the characters. so at the end, when we printed out the pix, we just stuck it onto the appropriate slots, where the index card with their name/autograph was.

a cute little keepsake...autograph/photograph book. and super cheap, too! :flower:

:jumping1: Last year my daughter made an autograph for our ganddaughter that didnt get to go with us, she got a package of the colored paper 8 1/2 X 11 and cut it in half, she worked at a stationary store at the time and she got them to bind it like some of the church cook books are, she put a transparenicy on the front and back. I took pictures of each character and when we came home she and I put the picture by the name she was only 4 last summer and she had alot of fun doing it, her sister got to go with us and she got the autographs for her. But don't fret in January we moved herAunt to disney to work and she got to go to magic kingdom but she had to have the real autograph book like sisters. You could take to Office Max, Office Depot or some were like that to get it bound. Make it that size so you can put a picture of your child with the charachter.

:grouphug: :earseek: ::MinnieMo
going to disney in 57 more days and counting down!

Soulsistas make the MOST ADORABLE autograph books!! Here's the link:

They sell them on e-bay if you wish to buy them (don't know if they have any available now?!?). They use tag books by K & Co. VERY hard to find, I only found one website that sold them and could not find them in any stores!!! I ordered two tag books and am planning on using these tag books to make my two youngest dd's princess autograph books!! We have PS at CRT and PSB!!! I better get going on them!!! FIVE WEEKS AND SIX DAYS UNTIL WDW!!!

Good luck and HAVE FUN!! :cheer2:

Do you remember what site you got them from????

I'm working on a homemade autograph book for our May trip. There are SO many cool Disney products out right now I'm loving it! Just wish Sandylion would HURRY UP and get their new Disney line out! It's really been alot of fun to make. A little weird though, as I am used to working in 12x12 or 9x9.

I just bought a 6x6 spiral bound album at Michael's. So far it's working great and there are alot of pages in it. I'm working on painting and decorating the cover right now.

This is from a post I made just after our trip. Email me and I can send you a pic of the book - so cute and easy to make...

How to make an autograph book - only true Disney nuts need read!

What you will need:
1. A mini photo album (Disney themed is good) with sheets for holding photos
2. A sheaf of white card stock paper
3. A metal ruler, cutting board and exacto knife (or scissors but this takes a lot longer)
4. Hole punch
5. A fat marker for signatures (again, Disney themed is good!) and a box of crayons

Steps:
1. Measure the pages in the photo album and use a document maker on your computer to create the pages - mine were 4x5 and I used quark express.
2. Find a list online of all the characters avalable to meet in the park - email me and I can send you one if you like.
3. Search for colouring pages of each of the charcters and place one on each page with their name in small below. Email me if you are unable to find anyone and I can email you these as well. This may take some time
4. Be sure to leave enough room beside each character for the character to sign their name. Try to fit two autograph pages to a sheet of paper - you should end up with about 100 plus characters so 60 sheets should do. You may want to leave some blank sheets for other characters you forgot - we missed a page for Penguin from Mary Poppins.
5. Cut out sheets and hole punch and place in book - alphabetically is good so you can find each one quickly when you are there. Place a photo page holder between every two pages so you can put pics of your little prince or princess with each character.
6. Attach fat marker with ribbon and Bob's your uncle!
7. Present on way down to Florida to your favourite Disney prince(es) or princess(es) on plane ride with lovely box of new crayons and you may get half an hour of peace from "Are we there yet?" as they colour in their favourite characters.
8. The characters you meet will LOVE this book - it really makes for some wonderful character interaction and wonderful signatures. The two mice from cinderella had a little playful quarrel because Suzy took up all of Perla's room. I wanted my girl to have this for her first trip so that she could watch herself grow with the characters - we should have everyone by the time she is ten! This year we got Tigger, Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Timon, Raffiki, Queen of Hearts, Genie, Penguin, Suzy, Perla and Goofy. It was a lot of work but worth every moment and so fun! Caution - this might make some disney addicts drive themselves right into the ground in a tizzy of anticipation!
Have fun!

My 10 yr old just took a class at Cord Camera for making a Disney autograph book. They started with a Bazill 6X6 album with blank pages. The instructor had precut the Disney paper to fit onto the pages and then had cardstock tags---one sized for a wallet sized photo, the other for a signature. Then when all of the pages were completed, she threaded colorful ribbons through the holes on the pages and bound them to the book.

If I can get dh to post pictures on the web, I'll show you. A picture is worth a thousand words!!!

This is a GREAT idea!!! :cheer2:

Here is an old thread that has some pictures of pages I made from an autograph book I made, I just used basic Disney papers and and them sign those. To make it a book I used a spiral bound index card book. I liked that whatever signatures we got I could then take out and use to make pages. It has my old user name (going2wdw).

Just wanted to check back in and tell you that dh was so wonderful and he posted pictures of dd's autograph book on the internet.

Go to www.mikepatrickjr.com/albums and click on autograph book. You'll have to scroll some on the pictures to see it all. :)

Not too shabby for a 10 yr old!!!
