Homecoming was last night.

We had our high school homecoming last night. V-ball won and so did the Football the boys fourty fived them by the 2nd qtr. but they played to half and the other team scored so in the 3rd qtr we fourty fived again so the game was over in the 3rd.

All week was spirit week. Kindergarten though 12th grade decorated their classroom halls. each day of the week was a diffrent theme and they dressed for it. Thursday night was the pep rally and corination, the local bank held a bbq. At the pep rally 2 footballs and 2 volleyballs were auctioned off. each football went for almost $800 each and volleyballs for almost $300 each. I love our town and how everyone comes out and support the kids.

No not Oakley Ks. Bird City Ks. a little over and hour away, I work near Oakley. I think thier homecoming is in 2 weeks. Are you from this area?

I'm not but my husbands famils is and he just came back from there and was telling me the small town stories I've never been, and I'm excited to go, I grew up right outside of DC so I've never been to a small town where everyone comes out for highschool football and everyone knows everyone. Its very exciting to me!

May I ask what your Dh name is (you can pm me) The ladies I work with are from Oakley.

I love small town life. all sporting events are great People that do not have kids in school anymore still go to the games, they will even travel to away games to support the team. Sometimes its over 2hours one way to a game.

In the summer there are lemonade stands, and kids play outside and come home when the 6 o'clock whistle blows.
