I'm thinking about becoming a DVC member. I looked at all the info and I really love the BCV. However, I garnered from my reading that the 3 br grand villas at BWV are very hard to book (because they are so few) and that one would need the 11 month advantage in order to have any chance of getting one. So my question is, is it smarter to choose BWV so that on those years (not every year) when I would want to take my extended family with me I could have a shot at getting a 3 br villa? Is it relatively easy to get a 2br villa at BCV at the 7 month mark (I understand all bets are off for christmas, july 4th etc)? Also, even if one is home resorted at BWV, is there still a face-off on the 11th month at 7 am to book these? (ala, CRT:rotfl2: )

I know that if I can't EVER get to stay at BCV I would be dissapointed, but I guess it's more important to know that I won't have to share a sleeping space with my MIL :scared:

:scared1: And just so you know, it's the bed-spread. It's just too busy at BWV (neurotic, yes I know!)

I'm not sure how many points you are looking at, but the solution might be to purchase contracts at both BWV and BCV and alternate using them.

That's what we do with BWV and VWL. We bank one of the contracts, then borrow on the other one so we can make an entire reservation at each at the 11 month mark.

If you think you will be alternating between them, that is one solution. If you think BWV stays will be less frequent, you can get a smaller contract there and bank & borrow to give you three years worth of BWV points to use at the 11 month mark.

I think for your specific situation, that's the best bet. Otherwise, you will have to choose between getting booked at your favorite (BCV) or getting best shot at BWV GVs.

Can't you just get your MIL her own studio at the BCV? :teeth:

Those BWV GV are very nice - but costly!

DUH! I can't believe I didn't even think of that. I just looked at the points charts and we could get 2 2brs for less than the GV. Ok, I guess that solves that dilemma. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I guess it just never occurred to me that I can reserve as many rooms as my points would support. Blonde moment.:thumbsup2

Ha! That is so incredibly funny, I'd feel the same way.

One thing though, I don't know if you can request that the rooms be next to each other, or even close by, on the other hand, with the MIL, you might want them kind of far apart!?:confused3

And just for your info, BWV GVs are hard to get. I am one who just refuses to do the day by day reserving at BWV. However, that appears necessary for BWV GVs. Twice in the last year I have attempted to get BWV GV for a week (in Jan and in late August -- two usually lower demand times) by calling 11 months out from the end date of the one week planned trip and both times the GVs were already full.

We got a 2bdr and a 1bdr right next door to each other at VWL mid Nov. 2006. It was great! The 4 of us and my parents in the 2bdr and my sister and her family in the 1bdr...Tons of privacy and quiet for all..:woohoo:
