I just received a call today from the receivors appointed for the venue we were going to have our at home party at... they've gone bust taking our £150 deposit with them!

So now we're £150 out of pocket, and have no venue - with our party being the first weekend in December we're not likely to find another :0(

So if any of you UK dis-ers out there know of a nice party venue in the Bath/Bristol area I'd love to hear form you :0)

I can't help ya seeing as how I'm in Texas but here's some :grouphug: for you. That sucks! I would be extremely upset if they took my money and shut. GRRRRRR to them!

I am in Texas Too, so I'll send a Hug, and a suggestion...

If the Place went belly up, find out who took it over, mayby they will give you a break. if it was just booking agency, why not contact the place directly. They may still have your funds on deposit....

Just suggestion...

It was a local bar and we booked direct - my DH2B did suggest that if they got taken over they might honour our party - we just have to wait and see... it's in a prime spot in town so maybe it'll get taken over...

Thanks for the kind thoughts every one :0)

Awww sweetie that sucks big time :( I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the people that take it over go with it for you. Sorry I'm not from the area so can't help, but keep us post RJ

Well i just booked another venue today - but we can't get in until January 28... think it will be ok though - as I have less than 4 months to finish planning for this trip and by the time we get back it will be the Christmas frenzy, so this way I have January to put the finishing touches to the party - and can buy some decs/favours in the Jan sales!

Besides it gives everything something to look forward to as January is usually such a depressing month :0)

So True...

BTW, good luck!!!!!

So, can we have some of the wedding details????? Inquirin Minds want to know...

You mean like where we're having the ceremony and stuff? Sure...

We're flying out to Florida on November 3 (we being me and my DH2B, my mum, dad and brother (all WDW veterans) and my DH2B's mum, dad, brother and his girlf (all disney virgins)).

We're staying in the Villas of somerset together until the day before the wedding when we pitch up to the AKL! HOORAY.

The wedding is on the 15th, at 1pm (although I'm trying to change it to 3) at Sunset Pointe - after the ceremony we're thinking of heading out to the cracker barrel on the 192 - and then back for an illuminations cruise.

We're having DPS do the pictures - and my brother is going to do some photojounalistic ones too.

Everyone esle flies home on the 17th but me and my DH2B stay until the 24th - having our MK portrait done on the 19th :0)

The @home party is going to be for our friends and my DH2Bs family. We're also having two more get together's for my mum's family and my dad's as we all live so far apart! So hopefully I should get to wear my dress at least 3 if not 5 times!!

Was that the kinda thing you wanted to hear?

rosiejo,

I think Disney might have double-booked us! I am scheduled to be married at Sunset Pointe on November 15th at 1:00 as well! I'll have to contact my wedding coordinator to see if this is the case.

Oh blimey! And I knew it was all going too smoothly... I was told 1pm by a Virgin weddings rep - they say that's the time I asked for - but I wanted 3pm...

I haven't had any confirmation from Disney.

Let me know what your EM says...

rosiejo, it also could be that your "Virgin Wedding Rep" actually MEANT to say 3:00pm, and it came out wrong. I would place a call to your EM and verify. While I have never known this to happen with WDW, I have seen more than one wedding that they didn't write on the schedule, and wound up loosing the time even though they have left a deposit. Again, I haven't heard that at Disney, but I would seriously urge you to check. Esp since you have no confirmation, and the wedding rep was so new.

[edited because someone misinterpreted my comment]

rosiejo, I just noticed something: jenm2878 has only 1 post, and no personal information.

There is the distinct possibility that she is a TROLL. I hope I am wrong (I would hope that NO ONE would want to panic Disney Brides for amusement), but I wanted to mention it because it might ease your mind a little over the weekend (until you call your EM) to know it might just be an EVIL Practical Joke....

Hmm could be - I dropped an email to my co-ordinator and will wait see what she says - I'm hoping they changed it to three as that's what we wnated anyhow :0)

No, I'm not a troll. I have frequented the boards to get info and help on my wedding. I have never posted before, true, because I just enjoy reading other posts. When I read this post about having the same time, I panicked and registered. Thanks for thinking badly of me though - no wonder I haven't posted before....

Rosiejo,

I e-mailed my EM and she assures me that I'm scheduled for 1:00 on the 15th. Is it possible that they accidently told you 1:00 instead of the 3:00 that you wanted? I hope it all works out for you! :)

BTW - I don't have any personal info on here because I wasn't sure how to change it after I registered.

jenm2878, If you would have actually read my post, I was telling rosiejo that it was a POSSIBILITY, not that you are one. I also posted that I hoped it wasn't so. It was not intended as a personal attack, nor should it have been taken as one. Oh, and as far as what you posted towards me, I harbor you no ill will towards you, and I apologize if I made you feel unwelcome. There are more than a few people who post on these boards just to stir up trouble, and I would not want to see someone being malicious to you just as I don't want to see anyone being malicious to risiejo.

No hard feelings. I was just surprised that someone would think that. I really am just trying to avert a wedding crisis for both Rosiejo and I. I posted the possible time conflict in a hurry (in a panic really) not thinking it would look like I wasn't really a Disney bride. My apologies as well.

jenm2878, Like I said, there aren't any bad'uns I have seen that have drifted over to the WB, but we must be ever vigilant... Oh, one other thing that looked a little suspicious (since we can look back and laugh now, and I know you will start to get posting and join the group...you posted it towards the end of a day on a Friday when she couldn't get an answer with a quick phone call.. I know how stressed you must have been, imagine hoe stressed rosiejo is now!!! BUT, the difference is that NOW it is Monday Morning in Orlando, and she can get someone at FTW ON THE PHONE TO VERIFY SHE IS IN THE COMPUTER AT 3:00 (after yours ;)) If you were doing something....ummm. scripted? the timing was right for maximum stress

(rosiejo, hint hint... it is almost 9:00am in Orlando...)
