I do get very motion sick and I wore wrist bands and took a half a Bonine every night before bed. The night the captain came on (even in the staterooms which says a lot) I took a full pill before going to dinner. I never got sick. It was still rough the next morning but tapered off around noon. I recommend taking the bonine at night to let the drowsiness wear off and don't be a hero one day (learned the hard way) and not take it as you are "feeling fine". If you know you get motion sick, it is not worth a bad half day waiting for the meds to kick back in and taking an extended nap.
I did get sick doing the same thing on the magic last fall when hurricane Matthew followed us to Canada. So I can safely say that it was not as rough as that night! I know, not saying much...
This cruise was amazing, I highly recommend considering it to anyone. I was sad to see they were not going to Akureyri next year.
