Home alone - scared the crap out of myself!

Tomorrow I take the last part of the CPA exam, so I'm home "cramming" and my fiance is out trying to stay out of my hair. Every 15 minutes or so I keep hearing a loud buzzing noise for a few seconds. Cats poof up and scatter, and noise stops before I can find where it's coming from. This goes on for two hours. Loud buzzing, cats scattering, Jen jumping up in time for buzzing to stop. I'm feeling like a fool, but have seen enough horror movies that I'm starting to get nervous. Finally, loud buzzing persists. Cats freak. Jen jumps up and traces sound to bathroom where I find...............my fiance's battery powered toothbrush is short circuiting and keeps turning itself off and on.

Needless to say that I took out the batteries and peace has been restored.

Still feeling silly though.

Don't you just hate when things like that happen. It couldn't happen with a house full of people, it has to wait until you're alone to freak you out.

Before Halloween I set up a screen saver of a haunted house complete with spooky ghost sounds. Late one night I went to my room and left it on. I nearly peed my pants a few minutes later when in the absolute silence I hear this eerie OOOOOHHHHHH sound coming from another room. It took me a second to figure it out.

Sounds like something I would do. My one cat is a warm air junkie and will plant herself in front of the vents when the furnace is on. Not surprisingly, it dries her up. One night I woke up in the middle of the night to this awful grunting/moaning. I was still half asleep so it scared the crap out of me. I jump up and realize it's just Cassie cat snoring - loudly.

That sounds like my parent's house yesterday. My mom had gone to pick up my grandmother (she rotates staying with them and my oldest uncle) and had gotten back to their place. My mom went back out to the car to get something,while my Grandmother was settling down. However, my grandmother kept hearing this sound that sounded like Hey, Hey, Hey. My mother said my grandmother almost beat her back out the door! Turns out it was my mother's Pomeranian just being a little noisy in her breathing! Maybe it's time for hearing aids....

One time my mom had her phone on vibrate. She just set it on the table without changing it. Well a few hours later, its dark, my uncle and I are watching tv, and the lights are off.

uncle-did you hear that?

me-hear what?

(2 minutes later)

uncle-Did you hear THAT?

me-the "mmmmrrrrrrrrrrrrrzzzzzzzzzz"

uncle- yeah

me- sounds like someone moving furniture upstairs

uncle-I don't think so.

me-I'll go check

(I checked, and mom thought we were crazy, then she came down with us)

uncle-Wait for it, I want to hear where its coming from. shhhhh

me-I'll check outside

mom, I'll check the garage

(At this point we leave him in the dining room and mom actually went around the house looking for a cow. )

my uncle reaches down and picks up her phone. It was the sound of the holder vibrating against the table. she had missed like three calls!

Thanks! I think the test went okay. I told my fiance what happened and he had a good laugh.
