It's a real dreary day here in NY. It's cool, dark and rainy.

Hi Hara! You know how I said that I was going to get a flu shot. Well I really did not want it, so I got the flu mist. No needles.

Good for you. How did it feel?
We all go to the family pediatrician each year and she gives us the shot. We had it a few weeks ago. I didn't even think of asking for the mist.

I agree, but I have been doing lots of cooking and cleaning all day long. No time for one. Will have to wait till the weekend to get some sleep.

Well I decided to get the mist because, when I get a shot I feel funny after. I feel like throwing up, and not good at all. It was a good experience.

Stay away from the peanut M&M's today. You can eat until 10 tonight, can't you. The fast food joints will go out of business if you can't.

12 hour fast, so can't eat past 7:30 PM

...me too...Back-to-School Nite with the parents - they pick up their child's report cards in their homerooms and get to visit with the teachers to discuss their grade or any other concerns they may have.....

Yuk. I hate "back to school" night right after report cards. We do ours really early in the year now, it is more "meet the teacher" which I greatly prefer.

Ugh, I was off today and planning on not doing much, but I just got a call from work asking me to be at a meeting at 3. Don't you just hate that?

YES! Day off, don't answer the phone.

Celebrity baby name update...Adam Sadler and his wife named their new baby Sunny Madeline...she joins big sister Sadie

Sadie and Sunny. I prefer sunny over sadie, probably because I had a Sadie one year, who was NOT a model student...... ruined the name for me.

Five more minutes in real time until taxi time.

Meeting after school was a waste of time, drive to another elementary building to learn a web site address. Yes, an address that could have been emailed to everyone anytime at all. We got to view that address up on the big screen and WRITE IT DOWN OURSELVES, not even a handout of it. That was productive. Took 15 minutes to see it and discuss amongst ourselves how ridiculous the meeting was.

My student teacher is doing a great job. He is insightful and does extra planning and activities for every subject.

Today he told me he doesn't think the class likes him.
Huh?

Yes, they do.....you are doing great, I tell him.

He says the class keeps comparing the two of us, and he falls short.
Awww.......that is a sweet thing to say, really!
I tell him to be himself, you can't be someone else or the kids will eat you alive.
They are fine, they listen to him and work hard........I think he is overthinking the whole thing.

That is the down side of being a teacher...you can associate a name with a troublesome student which can make it difficult when naming your children. I have 2 names that I love and I hope I never have a student that will ruin the names for me
