I was just getting ready for bed and noticed that there is no "AIR" coming from my AC vents!!!!

I can hear the unit running in the attic!

We leave for Disney in three days someone please tell me it is not a MAJOR problem. This may cancel our trip if it is!

I am going to bed for now - would appreciate help please!!!! :guilty:

I have no idea what type of unit you have but you could try two things :
1) make sure you have a clean filter
2) unit can freeze up. This happened to us in early June. I had to turn thermostat to "fan only" for several hours to let unit thaw, then we turned it on (and with the addition of a clean filter), it worked great.

I hope this is all you'll need to do because it's a quick fix. Good luck.

This usually works for me.

The motor on our furnace went out last Friday, in the 90+ degree temps we had. The furnace is what pushes the cool air through our house. They got the part in late yesterday and will be by to replace it today. He said it would be about $450 to replace.

We had one freeze up due to dirty filter. Shut down for half a day, changed filter and it works great. First time on this season we had a service call as we were leaking freon gas. The unit is 11 years old. 88 degrees today and cool in here!

Our A/C tanked in the worst heat and humidity of the season ( I believe it was 44C with the humidity, about 110F). It turned out to be a capacitor (sp?), the guy had one in his truck, and it cost $15.95. We were afraid we were going to end up replacing the whole unit, so it was an exciting day for us!

My DH said there is some condensation on one of the pipes leading into the unit. I shut the unit off last night and then turned it back on again maybe an hour later and the funny noise from the unit stopped and air was blowing again? :confused3 :confused3 I started to think I just imagined the whole thing.

But this morning my DH said he heard the "noise" this morning.
We changed the filters last week and are pretty faithful about doing that on a regular basis.
