if you are ever discussed on one of those boards, i'm sure one of your "friends" here will PM you and let you know. heck, i bet they'd even give you a link to the thread. since the word filters here also work on PM's... sometimes calling someone a stoopid head just doesn't cut it. Lots of "those boards" don't have word filters. popcorn::

psssst would someone PM and clue me in as to what you're talking about :rolleyes1 :tiptoe: :ssst:

yes, i'm aware of a very "un" disney like place where people spew venom and vulgarity on a regular basis and talk about the people here behind their backs instead of PM'ing them or speaking openly to them here.

Oh please.....I am aware of a very "un" friendly place where people spew venom and vulgarity on a regular basis and talk in code names for other DISERS. Pot, meet Kettle

Here would be a very good example of the kind of hijacking that is annoying people:

I have to ask you something--are you aware that you and your friends were hijacking that thread, as well as countless others? Is that you have so much fun with your buddies that y'all don't even notice that you're hijacking?

From the comments I've seen, I don't know if you people are in denial about it or just completely oblivious to everyone else on the CB.

That thread is also a good example of a thread that asked directly about another poster instead of simply PMing him or e-mailing him (assuming he accepts e-mails). That violates board policy as I understand it so that thread shouldn't have been there to begin with. And it was an example of an OP believe that they own the thread, which irks people to no end (which, BTW, doesn't give a person a right to hijack it, I'm just explaining motivation). That is the thread that I was referring to in an earlier post that I wouldn't apologize for taking part in the hijacking of, even though I would every other time I was even accidentally involved (not that I'm a big offender).

Like I've stated several time, I do agree that it's not an ok thing to do in every other case.

Are you referring to an open or a closed board? Are you a member of that board?

So because the thread violates board guidelines you have a right to highjack it and it's okay? Wow! I like that rule! :lmao:

Dan, you and I banged heads hard during political 'discussions' a while back. Neither of us had very respectful things to say to each other then. Frankly, I was amazed the first time you seemed to be taking a personal potshot at me. The Great Dan Murphy was human? Yep, turned out you were just like me.
I am still a mite bothered that your posts come off a little 'holier than thou' sometimes but I've heard from too many people who know you, people whose opinions I respect deeply to think I'm always reading your 'tone' correctly. I read your flurry of posts the other night and felt you meant to stir things up a mite. To quote you and others, "Holy Moly", you've certainly done that. I concur with you on part of your original message here. Things have changed on the DIS.

I know some people feel you're judging the appropriateness of their posts and thoughts and don't like it, they feel you're actually judging THEM. I, however, believe you're doing what you feel is best for the DIS and if the mods and wms can live with your reports and nudges then I have no complaint. You have a right to your opinion as does each member of the DIS.

Before I am accused of taking the thread OT I want to make one final point: I would love to see a sub-board for the clique, game and fan threads! But I can cope if it doesn't happen.

PEACE! GOD BLESS ALL OF US, DAN! GOD BLESS US EVERY ONE! :thumbsup2

Ummm...NO! If I have something to say I will say it to someone's face....not run off and talk about them behind their backs or talk about them in CODE like a coward.

And the gazillion paged thread with your name in lights wasn't a thread directed at another poster? The point is pretty moot coming from you.

Ah...The thread where somebody who wants to see the board rules upheld was given a shout-out which is against board rules...

Yes, I know, mature of me...I do have my moments! :rotfl2: (hey, I can admit it... ;) ).

It would have been hard to have PMed me PM saying that my PM box was full... DUH!!! :lmao: And it turned into a club thread, which was obvious to anyone who checked it out. Nothing that violated board policy.

are you sure you're not in 6th grade? :wizard:

I have had very pleasant exchanges--both on the board and through PMs--with many of the people I would place in the hijack gang. I'm not looking to feud or fight with y'all about this since I really do like many of you. :)

So I'm asking you guys nicely. Please, for the sake of those of us who'd like to continue posting on friendly terms with you folks, knock off the hijacking thing.

Enough is enough.

So you don't like club threads. Okay, point has be taken. You don't like hijackings. That is understandable as well, and I am sure people will be more thoughtful. Are we all perfect DISers? No.

It now seems that a very vocal anti-clique minority has decided to use this opportunity to pick on a few people. And how is that nice, friendly and welcoming?

But you accept email - someone could have sent you an email.

Let me just clear this up if there's confusion (and the confusion may be on my part as well), but the T&B thread *was*directed to her, as it was the only way I could get in touch with her. It took off, and as the OP of that thread, I didn't care in the least, nor did any Mods. I would've respected their decision to close it down if it were deemed inappropriate--I have stated that several times on this board. Now, we recently changed the name as to not violate the guidelines of having a poster's name in the thread title, which is fine. I agree 200% about the threadjacking, and in fact, pulled myself back from that a while ago when I realized I was a part. I sincerely apologize to all that were offended.

I'm not getting into this anymore than I already am. I've already been referred to as a part of a "merry band of idiots," as well as agoraphobic, friendless and ostracizing, and I've really had my fill.

If this wasn't the meaning of your post, then I am sorry. I read it several times and that's all I could come up with.

I didn't have her email at the time. Now I do, and have used it.

I guess......I'm always surprised when people don't know how to do something. FYI, everyone - whether or not a user accepts emails is on their personal profile. You can access that from their username on any post!
