Holy Moly price hike!

It absolutely does, but I'm not seeing that with many who are rebooking ( per the M&G group that I'm in).
Unfortunately, apparently, not all CMs read the memo all the way through. If the price quoted isn't the correct one, just ask to speak to a supervisor, or call back and talk to a different CM.

Thank you.
Do you happen to know if the memo is available anywhere where I could have a copy of it in front of me when I call? I'd love to be able to refer to it.

Well, I used "memo" as a way of conveying that not all CMs have all the answers. Due to many reasons, most likely. I don't know that there's an actual memo floating around telling them to do that. But I know that the 20% discount has been applied, for those who've gotten it, to the price the cruise was when they booked their original cruise, and not the prevailing price.

UPDATE: DCL has done a great job at disappointing me lately. Though it's been reported that cancelled sailors from the Dream were able to book using their original book date for pricing, I was not allowed to. I was told that because my cruise was cancelled, I had to use today's date.

Apparently, the procedure for the cancelled (Dream 10/7) cruise is different than the one for the Magic changed ititnerary cruise.

Those people on the cancelled Dream cruise could get a refund, and a discount on a future trip. But just a straight discount on the prevailing price of that cruise.

Unlike the Magic cruisers who could "rebook" their cruise with a 20% discount. And they were giving that discount on the price that cruise was when they made their original booking (like it was the cruise they booked in the first place).

Totally not my business but is anyone else o_O when it comes to the discount?

I would think it would be the Dream that got canceled who would get the old rate and the Magic who are simply deciding they don't like the change DCL made would get the current rate. Well honestly I think both should get the old rate but it just seems butt backwards as they say. I would be upset with DCL for granting the courtesy to Magic and not the Dream.

Perhaps I am missing something... did the canceled dream get less than all the others around that time that had plans altered like the extended 6 night Dream or the itinerary change or the 6 night Fantasy? or was it all pretty even?

Not sure how "even" things were. But the difference in the compensations could have a little to do with the price difference between an 8 night cruise (Magic) and a 3 night cruise (Dream).

Another thought - Did the people on the 4 night Dream that turned into a 5/6 night cruise pay for the additional nights? I don't think so, and DCL was covering the gratuities for the additional days.

I was on that cancelled cruise and it's a toss up on what you could get in addition to your 20% "discount". The prices went up because of our discount and it stinks but at the same time, it's Disney...so they can get away with it. Many of us were able to get old pricing and not the one as of the time we called, but that is because there was more to it than just asking and then hanging up. We're talking over 4 hours on the phone while sitting in the middle of a theme park AND AFTER 2 freaking hours on hold. It was not pretty and if you saw us in Tomorrowland at the phone charging station, you probably heard a bit of a melt down between me on the phone with my useless travel agent and my husband simultaneously on the phone with DCL.
