I just read on Mousesavers that the price to rent a golf cart at the Fort is now $63.95 plus tax a day. Is that correct?????

That is correct. Thats why people rent from tee time carts

Please rent from Kenny at Teetime! We JUST got back from FW and Kenny was amazing! The cart was delivered and picked up from our cabin, he called during the vacation just to check up on how we were doing, and the cart is so much faster than the Disney ones! It was such a win-win! We love Teetime now!

Yes....it is insane....and I'm being forced to pay it in October! UGH!!!! Kenny is booked so I had to cut down my cart time to pay for one at the Fort. We'll only have a cart for about 4 days instead of 7. We used Kenny last year and he was awesome. Next year I'll be making my reservation with him super early!! Last year I made it two months out, so I tried that again for this year. I guess he's getting more popular.

Supply and Demand. As long as they have customers (suckers!) to pay their exorbanent (sp?) prices for the cart rentals, the prices will never go down. Sure they may lure the masses in with promotions, but I've never seen the incidentals go down. Just my 2 cents...

Wasn't there another guy..named "Steve" who rented as well?...Not sure..maybe someone else can chime in on this?...:confused3

Oh stop cry'n,,if you can afford the price of a camp site during the holidayz at Disney,,whats another 65.00 a day. :lmao:

Let's see - campsite, golfcart, puppy VIP suite at Best Friends - heck, it's cheaper to stay at Grand Floridian.

Unfortunately, there are so many irresponsible people that rent carts with the sole purpose of seeing how much the carts can take before they are destroyed, I don't blame Disney for charging so much. I've seen carts driven into the lake by Meadows, the canals, I've seen people mudding in carts, 4 teenagers standing on the back of the cart in order to make the cart do wheelies. You name it, I've seen it.

I'm not sure if Disney owns their carts. I think they rent via a fleet rate similar to golf resorts. Someone is going to pay for the carts that are destroyed, and it's not going to be Disney. Again....if the Fort would be a little more stringent about enforcing their own rules, maybe less carts would get trashed. On the flip side, Disney can't have security covering every square inch of the Fort and people should grow up and act like responsible adults.

I've only rented a cart one weekend from Disney back in January 1995. IIRC, it was $40/day. The next month we bought a used cart & my DH had a ball customizing it. Fortunately, we use our cart in our neighborhood too, so it not just for the Fort.

I'd rent from Kenny in a minute but, wow, just wanted it for a day to take the dog to the dog park and do some looping with him so he could see the Fort in person. At $65 a day that is more than the camp site!!!!!! So I'm not sure how I'm going to get the pooch over to the dog park if your not suppose to walk them out of the loop and there's no car parking over there......hmmmmmmmmmmmm.:confused3
I'm sure not going to pay that for a golf cart. Guess we'll have that loop memorized big time by the time we leave. :rotfl2:

We have walked our German Shepherd from the 1700 loop and back from the dog park. Not sure if it right or wrong, but no one has said any thing.

We rented the FW golf carts the past two trips. We're definitely calling Kenny next time! :thumbsup2

Thank you for that info. I'm pretty sure that we'll be over in that area, so we will walk down to the doggie playland from there. :thumbsup2

even our newer to us golf cart has now paid for itself in less than a year...

buying a cart was the best decision we made

and Kenny is awesome by the way, just awesome
