I've been searching in vain since we returned in January from our first Xmas week camping/Disney trip -- and then today I see a thread on TPAS mentioning Christmas-NYs week and I think to myself, "Self, you haven't searched for your dates yet today..." and when I searched -- fully expecting to see NOTHING, as I have every.single.time -- then I see a site for my days!!! I said out loud "NO WAY!" and then hurried up and reserved the site :)

So, yeah, we'll be back :)

Congrats on scoring the site for that time frame. You'll have to let me know where you end up. We booked our site (Full hook up ) like 6 months ago. We arrive a few days ahead of you

Mom, way to go! :yay:

It bears repeating (I've said it before and it deserves to be said again) that persistence pays off. This is proof that if you keep looking, keep calling, keep checking, it is possible to snag that hard-to-get reservation. Whether it's around Halloween or the Christmas holiday.

We expect LOTS of pictures, Mom, in the yet-to-be-started December trip report stickey! Those of us at home would love to follow along. :surfweb:

Thanks for the heads up! After reading your post, I called my friend who has been stalking the site for a while and she got 12/27 - 12/31 in a Premium site too!!! I booked way back in January but at that point I could only get a site by booking almost two weeks and I have to call and drop days.

A couple of hours later, she was able to score New Year's Eve! Yay! Maybe a few were released.

Persistence pays off (Or squeaky wheel gets the grease)... Okay so I don't believe it's the squeaky wheel thing. Congrats though. That's awesome. Part of me would love to be at the fort for Christmas and New years, but part of me would like to avoid it like the plague. Either way, I hope you have an awesome time.

I can tell you that last New Year's, the Fort was significantly less crowded than Spring Break and pretty much at the level of July. I think that people spend alot of time at the parks at that time enjoying the decorations and holiday atmosphere so they don't hang out at the campground. Plus, you get the awesome site decorations.

We have been there (at the Fort dis.gif ) twice during Thanksgiving (and the week following) when the Christmas decorations are up. We love it and in fact will be there again that time this year. We love the holiday decorations. Have also been to WDW to see the Halloween decorations, although not at the Fort, and it was awesome too.

Have to agree with Paul. A Huge part of me wants to avoid WDW at all costs at Christmas thru New Years but those dates as well as my birthday are all on my bucket list so this year that is where we will be. Three birds one trip. Right now we are planning for nominal park time with more resort hopping and campground time till after New Years

Christmas was crazy when we went, BUT we'd do it again in a heartbeat. Big ups for not giving up:cheer2:, we've gotten some of our best ressies by calling, and calling back and calling back. Congrats

We were there this past year during the same dates and LOVED it! We go often so I didn't feel like we had to hit the parks from open to close. We had an AMAZING trip, and I'm really looking forward to going back for the holiday. My husband is REALLY pushing for a park-free vacation (he doesn't want to buy tickets for the 5 of us, lol) so this could be a new vacation experience for us :)

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone!
