I rememer seeing one in a home I sold about 2 years ago. It was really neat, looked like the real thing. I am not a fan of fireplaces, might put one in the next home we build.
We just put in a Fireplace Xtrodinaire. I guess you could call it a hybrid between a fireplace and a wood burning stove. It looks just like a fireplace, but burns like a stove and has a blower. Right now, it's 73 degrees in the house and the heat is NOT on. Here's hoping the oil bill gets squashed!
We used a wood stove to heat the house when we lived in Maine. It was such a nice warm comforting heat and a two cords of wood would last us well into the spring. Sure beat a $400 plus monthly heating bill!
