Has anyone tried the dinner buffet at Hollywood & Vine? If so could you please give me your opinion of the food and service.

We went there about 4 years ago and thought it was pretty good. I don't know if it has changed much, but I say it is definitely worth a try.

We went 2 years ago, had 6pm ressies, showed up at 5:40 and put my name in, did not get seated until 7!!! We tried to get into the 50's Prime Time but they were sold out. So we finally get called and seated, the food was blah and the service stunk. We are trying Mama Melrose's this year.

We ate there in November (the week of Thanksgiving) and enjoyed. The variety was good and our waitress was top notch. We had a little wait, but not that bad considering the crowds. Like any other place, it's just my opinion. Believe it or not, one of out worst Disney meals was at Le Cellier!

We ate there last week. GREAT service. Food was good, not so special that I remember certain dishes, but I remember being happy with it, and I DO remember more variety in the veggies than other buffets we went to.

The food is very VERY good, and a little exotic, for a buffet. Things like Terryaki and salmon, I think. (And pot roast?)

Anyway: we love it, and have never been disappointed. They start dinner early, around 3:30 I think, and it's a great way to beat the throngs.

We have had the Hollywood and Vine buffet about three times (most recent being about a month ago) and liked it every time! We have always had great service, been seated with only a few minute wait, and the food was always good (nothing to write home about, but good, hot, fresh dishes with decent variety).

We have eaten there three times, the last at the beginning of last month. Granted it is not haute cuisine, we have enjoyed it each time. It is not a quiet soothing place! There is a good variety of all foods and I love the little desserts, (you can try them all more than once and it doesn't seem naughty because they're little ) It is actually better than the meal my DM and I had a Brown Derby as far as the food went, of course it was quieter and nicer at BD. We already have ADR's for next trip in September.

Went there on the Fantasmic Pkg. The food is pretty good...Everyone in our group (9 people) went away satisfied. I loved the roasted sweet potatoes with root beer glaze... Sounded yucky and just tried a small spoonful but went back for more The salads, breads, meats... all were good and there was plenty of variety. We will go back for the Fantasmic Pkg. again. (That is, unless 50's PrimeTime is included in the Pkg. at a later date.)

We did it as part of the Fantasmic package in 04. We'd read some mixed reviews, but it was much better than we expected. Lots of different choices, food was fresh and even the "plain" dishes had a little twist to them that took them out of the ordinary. The worst part was the wait--we were seated at 7:15 for a 6:40 PS (as they were called back then). I'd give it a B overall. We're doing it as part of the Fantasmic package again in August.

We ate there on the Fantasmic package last year. We had maybe a 30 minute wait. The service was good and the food was pretty good, too.

We ate there last March we had ADR for 50s and they made us wait for 30 min I finally got up to go to the bathroom and noticed there was NO wait for H&V so we ran over there and was immediatley seated.. Food wasnt bad, nothing special tho.. I would eat there again just wouldnt go out of my way for it..JMHO

NOW I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THE SERVICE: What do you all mean about the Service. I am a little confused ....are you talking about how long you waited and were seated OR are you talking about your server in H&V?

If you are talking about your server...ours came over to the table, introduced herself, took our drink order and that was IT! H&V is a buffet, so I am not sure how one judges SERVICE at a BUFFET? . 30 - 35 minutes later server set the bill on the table!

We have eaten at Hollywood and Vine as part of the Fantasmic package and although we had a great waiter, the food was definitely not that great. We have eaten at Mama Melrose, Sci Fi and 50's Prime Time and liked Mama Melrose the best.

You judge a server at a buffet by how well they are clearing your used plates. If I finish one plate and go to get more food a good server should have that plate cleared before I come back or shortly thereafter. I also judge them on how well they keep the drinks filled. If the glass is dry it is not because I said I don't want anymore then they are a poor server. My FIL is a diabetic. The diabetic desserts are served by the server they are not out on the buffet.

It is very possible to get poor service at a buffet., it is also very easy to judge. I find that at Disney I usually get really good service at the buffet.
