Hollywood & Vine or Brown Derby for Fantasmic Package?

Hello all,

I'm due to book our ADR's this weekend and my Father wants me to add on the Fantasmic package to them. Myself and BDF have eaten at H&V previously and we thought the food and service was okay.

So we know about that one. Now, any thoughts on Brown Derby? We've never been here before and would like to hear any views that people may have. Is it better or worse than H&V?

I don't like the buffets so I'm always going to say that Brown Derby is better. But if you have tried H&V and like it, that may be the better choice for you, especially if you are on the dining plan because BD costs two credits apiece. If your party are foodies, take BD.

We tried BD this past August instead of H&V. The service and the food was terrible. In the past we have always done H&V. We are going back there next May, much better than BD. IMHO.

I think it'll be back to H&V for us to next May I think that way, there'll be a selection for everyone to enjoy, as there's 5 adults dining.

Unless things have changed you could try Mama Melrose's? I really wanted to go there on the Fantasmic package, but it wasn't available.

My DH took our three kids to H&V for dinner on 10/30 (I was stuck in our room sick with H1N1)...and they all enjoyed it...so if you aren't in the mood for Italian then go for H&V.

We had our best meal of our trip last time at BD. Food and service were truly top-notch! We're going back this time, with a Fantasmic pkg.

I'd go with Brown Derby. We don't like H&V at all.

the last time we went to H & V the only thing edible was the salad! Crowded, loud, horrible service. Mama Melrose had better food but the service was only marginally better. BD had really good food & service but not worth 2 TS IMHO. If we can't get MM next year, we'll take our chances in line for Fantasmic.

Sorry we don't like either one. You couldn't pay us to eat at H&V ever again (after two really horrible experiences) and we did not care for Brown Derby and do not think it worth two table credits per person. When we do the Fantasmic Package we always eat at Mama Melrose. We've decided no longer to do the pacakge and we do lunch at Sci Fi.

Never ate at Brown Derby. Hollywood and Vine was high school cafeteria quality food -- yuck. We did fantasmic package at Mama Melrose and the food was very good. If you're on the dining plan... Mama Melrose is only 1 credit... Brown Derby is 2 credits.

Brown Derby has my vote. Great food Great Service that will not disappoint.

We have always used H&V for the Fantasmic Dinner option, but I have just had enough. I have seen:
- children running around without any adult supervision
- children eating directly off of the spoons at the buffet
- a child tossing his food at his older sister and the parents not reacting
- food picked through being added to a fresh offering
- children screaming at the dessert buffet because some other individual took the last item (no parents around)
- people taking their dirty plates up to the buffet

So I would choose Mama Melrose's or BD; at least any of the above listed stuff happens in the kitchen where I don't see it.

I still haven't made a final choice - and I can make them in the morning Who knows, maybe I'll ask the CM I get on the phone??
